With the upcoming removal of any possibilites to communicate with anyone that does not belong to your nation (Battle chat with enemies, PMs with them as well as Global Chat are going to be removed), we set up an "emergency solution", a discord Server for Naval Action. No moderators/devs will be able to shut you down there, but of course we do have some rules aswell. Join if you want to have a nice chat now and then :)

(Note: Was not my idea nor did I set it up, just felt like sharing it so more people know about it)

For now this is also not meant to be for the global server only, just a generic naval action discord. Can create seperate channels for the two servers in the future.

I think it's really for the chat functionality.  A place to air your salt and not worry so much about being banned.   Plus...Dank memes

Good solution but I guess it's for GLOBAL only? Maybe we should do something equal for EUROPE ...

I made the suggestion to create a global chat and EU chat in the same discord to keep the community together, but not sure if everyone wants to do that.  I feel that it would be convenient if nothing else.  However, switching between discords is very easy, so i guess having a EU discord server makes sense

Good idea for obvious reasons...don't care for the dramatics though....how many games have you gents truly played where you couldn't converse with other side or your enemies ingame ?...I can count quite a few...so Global chat being shut down is no real problem..players allways find work arounds, I don't agree with Global being shut down , That's what ignore is for, but it is what it is.

But players do find a way to overcome

Yah but we shouldn't have to use a third party software for something all ready in game.  I'm sure it will get dropped or changed with all the complaints, but than again you never know with this group....I just want the testbed patch to drop so I can start picking apart the new patch and get us ready for when it drops on live.

Indeed. The point that I wont be able to talk with my enemies - even in battle is worse. Can't count how often we've given or were given the opportunity to surrender to these or those  terms. Felt like kind of gentlemen-war. Now it's just kill! kill! kill!

In my opinion it kills most of the role play <_<

Well, no role-play without audience...

You guys honestly think you get more role-play or any community interaction by closing global chat?

I think neither the quote and the way i wrote my reply where not the correct ones. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I mean, a global chat, wiht all the nations, a battle chat to talk whit my "enemies", is "essential" for the Role play

I agree. At a minimum must have battle chat so I can talk to my opponent. It is like hailing. In real life I'd be able to talk to the capt. I was fighting. Only once in a year was it nasty, all other times it was fun, constructive and instructive.

Now I have to get to work.
