Ruthless4u Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I have mentioned this in several post on the steam forums, and I seen it brought up here But that was shut down. I am one of the aforementioned hearing impaired who can't use voice chat to communicate with other players. Why will I no longer be allowed to communicate with the majority of the games population? I can't really join a clan( everyone requires VC) and in nation chat is so hit and miss ( at least the times I play) but global I could typically find players to talk to. Is there even a point to trying to play if I can't communicate with 80-90 percent of the games population. It's not like there is a lot to do in OW on long trips. But i'm sure this will be shut down, like all the other discussions on the matter. But at please have the decency to tell me why I'm being punished for doing nothing wrong? 7
seanjo Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) I am also deaf and using any audio chat is hit and miss at best, being able to type to communicate is a boon for me, taking away that ability to communicate with the vast majority of players is not the way forward. Anne Wildcat Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I too am saddened at the removal of being able to talk to people from other nations but you still have the ability to chat through your nation chat.
LeBoiteux Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Not true. Slander. Not devs' intention. They want everybody to limit their communication with enemy. That's not discrimination. On the other hand, I agree that things can always be done to help everybody to play games. 2
Fellvred Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 "it is very clear the devs are singling out the disabled in attempt to keep them from playing a product they paid for" I think it's a little over the top to say they are actively discriminating against the disabled (there is no ingame voice only chat) but I agree that a global text system is needed in an mmo where communication is key. A large portion of players will simply use 3rd party chat programs to communicate where the devs will have zero input on how toxic it'll be. 1
LeBoiteux Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) If I ain't mistaken, Admin told us PvE server was open mostly because of the letter of a 70-year-old-or-so Gamer who loved playing Na, loved PvEing but couldn't manage PvP fights... (At least it was one of the reasons why) Edited April 13, 2017 by LeBoiteux
Ned Low Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 It's just easier for Devs to Disable Enemy Chanel, Nation and Friends will still work. I do agree there are better ways to approach this, but ... 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Only cross nations is to be disabled. Same nation and team and squadron chat remains. Hence the hearing impaired can communicate normally with their Nation countrymen in all steps in game. 1
