How about having wreck icons on the OW map that shows recent battle activity (say, since server maintenance)?

This may help folks see where battle instances are taking place.

makes ganking or avoiding easier. We had battle icons visible as long the battle was active. Guess what a welcome fleet was waiting outside. Other may call them gank or revenge fleet.

Does the Exit to Nearby Friendly Port from the battle instance not solve the revenge fleet issue?  Many are complaining about not knowing where the other player activity is located - I suggest that the map may be a way of helping folks know where the zones of conflict are.

The more people choose to enter back into OW after a fight, the better. It's a lot of wasted time if everyone always jumps back into port. If I am hunting or otherwise sailing around for PvP I want to always get back into OW as soon as possible after fights.

But do you know what is outside? Ofc exit to nearby port solve it but how do you know when you should use it?

 

I am more a fan of that a random number of people of different nation get a "mission" sail to square xy search and annoy enemy vessel. Burn sink or take them as prize.

Mission can be taken as group or single. When players meet with that kind of mission active everyone allowed can join the battle when in the circle. So if someone thinks he is smart take a mission bring friends without that mission to gank other with that mission. They are not allowed to join.

Fair point, if there was a "free look" outside of the instance - that would solve the issue of hoping back to port.  I am not sure how easy this is to implement.
