Hello Captains: 

This is a responsive survey to find out which ship you use for what job. Of course, it is understood that the ships and their uses will vary - so Im asking for "General" opinions here. (Your favorite) So, what ship do you like to take most often for:

Hunting: Rattlesnake

Ganking: Rattlesnake

Surprise is my favorite

 

Hunting: Surprise (for PVP), trader hunting: surprise, rattlesnake, Lynx 

Ganking: Renomee with control perk (although it's been months since I've ganked). 

Casual AI hitting: Snow

PBs: don't do anymore, prefer small brawls over large fights, maneuverability over tankiness.

The Rattlesnake fits all of my needs as it allows me to engage in the Open World on my terms (when I'm not playing badly), disengage when I'm facing odds I don't like, is quite resilient, and carries a potent enough arsenal for me to hammer ships like the Snow and Mercury into splinters. When our clan (HEC) go out hunting in our Rattlesnakes we are damned annoying to face as our speed and agility, as well as our carronades, allow us to dominate fights - especially against bigger ships.

Sad part of this is that only 4 ships are active and the rest is not being used at all. This should provide a nice comparison  for Devs. This means add more ships to the game and make them useful or re visit ships that are already in the game and fine tune them. 

Gank - Rattler

PvP - Pirate Frigate, Surprise and Constitution. 

PB - Agamemnon, Bellona.

We all know that Surprise and Rattler are 2 most used ships in the game. You honestly don't need any other ships to have fun. However, if Devs would make each ship unique the story would be different and less boring.

this is why PvP2 sucks ass for hunting you have to go out in a speed built buc to catch anyone

PvE ships

Shallow water trader only - Trader Snow

Deep water trader - Indiaman

Capturing other traders - Bellona w/ fleet Rattler chasing them down

Battle - Victory. 

PvP - L'Ocean, Vic or a Santi.

1st Rate Port battles: Santissima (though i technically like the Bellona and Bucentaure best as SOLs).
