DixieLand Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Has anyone really used this feature? I haven't yet but am curious about it. Is the AI (for you) as smart as the enemy AI? What have your experiences been with it (both offensively and defensively)? Thanks, 1
Sykes Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 +1 I'm curious about this as well. Great Question, Dixieland. I haven't tried out this feature yet either...
DixieLand Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) I might start fiddling with it tonight. It has interesting potential in theory but I dont know how it actually works yet, hence my thread question. Cool if you wanted to "play" as the Ultimate general in charge of your army but let your division commanders (AI) carry out your orders. Not sure that's even how it works but I guess i'll find out. Was my favorite part of scourge of war, that you could sort of play under that view. That you had to issue orders by courier and could do a command by saddle view and really grasp the how you DONT have a grand view of the battlefield and might have very little info beyond who you are engaged with in front of you. veji1 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 yeah old john tiller games had that feature as well in a turn by turn environment, it was quite nice to play the battles like that and see how your subordonates sort of carry your order but in a less clever manner and without your optimizing streak (" take that key hex with the woods and from there flank the units until they rout so that you can then take out the arty over there, etc...")/
