Haratik Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Why do you ask these things when the post you've quoted gives you the answer?

Thonys Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 well i do believe they learned theire lessons when it is fully developed and then there is a faul play ,it will be punished cefere i think
Zooloo Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I played the division at release and it was full of cheats and exploits, and most people were like "well i will exploit, i can't be competitive if i don't do it and there's no consequence". Players need to have a real idea of consequences of beeing caught exploiting in order to refrain the natural temptation and the fear of beeing owned by those who exploited. Not saying you should name and shame anyone but giving some info like "X number of 2 weeks bans have been issued after duping exploit" would do some good imo. 5

The Division is perhaps the most grindy game I have ever played. Not even NA is as grindy,

Not even NA is as grindy, Yeah well i'm not here to judge The Division, you're right it's extremely grindy and the amount of grind and it s rewards made a difference in PvP. Some people found exploits that allowed them to loot gear faster, in a non-challenging way, outside of the designed gameplay, and also without any fun ofc. The exploits spread out on forums, and devs didn't react firmly, nor fixed the exploits fast enough and many people thought "Wow, those guys will own me in the pvp zone, i have to do the same". And then the game turned into a complete nonsense, with a huge proportion of players exploiting instead of playing the game, i could litterally not find a group with automatch, 80% of groups i joined were practicing the exploits (and doing these exploits brought lots of loots but it was some boring stuff no gameplay at all, and they could do it for hours!). That is where a game goes when there is no strict punishment for exploiters. You can't blame devs only for making mistakes and letting some bugs happen that allows exploits. It's also player's fault for playing outside of game design instead of reporting it. And the only way to prevent it is temporary ban and assets wipe. Edited March 26, 2017 by Zooloo

Yeah sadly with the equipment bonus that the exploiters/cheaters had it became impossible to compete and I left the multiplayer very quickly seeing them not punished and retaining their advanced position. Devs/Mods obviously ahve last say and may choose to conduct their business any way that wish but bear in mind this does nonetheless ahve an influence on the palyerbase. Don't expect us to jsut sit here and take your word for it and how for the best when we take a shiny new ship out. Lack of being open about punishments always results in a lack of trust and joy to go out and possibly be subjected to cheaters.
Vernon Merrill Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Everyone knows that nobody gets punished in this game.... Let's be serious. But maybe that will change ..... soon™ 6

admin Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 We have always been clear on our position EA bugs and undersigned things in regards to economy, wealth creation, and/or item creation. We cannot find everything ourselves and players help us finding problems in the game. Several extremely severe loopholes were closed over the last year especially thanks to the help of the player qw569. We rely on early access players to find problems and report them to us. If you found something you must report it to protect your account, if you reported it you can use it, until we specifically say not to do it by closing the loophole. If we did not close you can use it until its closed. If we think the problem is serious we will fix it immediately (issues like 1bln per trade bug or 1st rate entry into PB). If we think the problem can wait we will only fix it if the community points our attention that we are wrong by not fixing it asap. ONLY in case if you have used the loophole or exploit a lot and HAVE NOT reported it you will be punished. In this particular case (mentioned above) we did not consider the item (upgrade) creation having any importance for two reasons a) it was widely reported and considered unimportant due to forthcoming ship and upgrades removal from the game b ) it was fixed when community pointed it importance despite the forthcoming wipe This policy will continue going forward just as before - formal F11 report on the exploit is your indulgencia There could be other exploits that remain and we will continue relying on players on finding them. Please report them as you find them. Report anything suspicious if you want to make the game better. Use Exploit Found - tag in your reports to help us find them better. 4
Powderhorn Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 So, after a long conversation with admin this morning as to how the community might react to this, I'm going to try to set some people at ease. The ones who were "exploiting" the issue were reporting it, trying to get it fixed. The issue was being punted as a wipe was anticipated, but, due to "development time" (see admin's signature above), it stretched out a bit further than some might be comfortable with. When the community raised it as an issue, it was resolved. The system of reports and community involvement is working. Please, continue to keep it working. If you are reporting something, and you think it is a big deal, please PM one of the moderators. We can either bring it up with greater urgency to the devs, or explain why it isn't quite a huge issue yet. (I say this because we were literally the last ones to know about the duplication bug.) With that said, I am going to lock the thread, so as to avoid any further rabble-rousing. Again, please continue to keep the system working by reporting bugs with F11, and if they're not addressed, shoot one of the moderators a PM. 2
