Sure, but as a second line unit to blast away melee blobs it's fantastic. Ideally you put in your first line a brigade with great melee guns like palmettos and the Fayetteville brigade just behind an wham.. you just trash the melee waves... If you have an arty brigade of Naps or 24pds close by, it becomes hideous...
