Norfolk nChance Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Hethwill closed I believe Angus McGregor's thread way too early. I understand why and absolutely agree with his points. Unfortunately it was all past tense with not how we move forward. Games-Labs needs to publish a proper rule book before or on launch and built into the terms and conditions. Having a Dev on the forum issuing rules just can't work. I've said before the game in alpha with no rule book leaves just the STEAM overlay rules and guidelines which are not specific. So the only thing we can take from this is catching the cheat mechanic now before it was released.Look at EvE Online's Terms and Conditions they are very light and probably too light for NA. But as for the cheaters they can only get a free pass here. No offence intended Hethwill, but I think this is what Games-Labs should be looking at moving forward, or something similar at least. Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Similar to EVE rulebook sounds perfect in my opinion Personal note: None taken
Sir Texas Sir Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Didn't we have an EULA when we bought the game and loaded it up? Can't remember it's been to long ago. Though for now we do have some post about such subjects by the Devs of what to expect when you do bad naughty things too.
Tomms123 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 On Naval Actions store page it says the following under System Requirements " Steam EULA is applied during alpha Game community uses strict chat policies. Toxic players will get their chat privileges withdrawn without warnings. Full chat rules are listed on our forums http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2346-forum-and-sea-trials-rules/ " So your idea that cheaters and such got a free pass is not true, there are rules against it. Granted, a notice ingame prior to when you login that you need to tick to accept the rules or a link to the rules would be good. 1
Norfolk nChance Posted March 19, 2017 Author Posted March 19, 2017 Tomms123, You hit the nail on the head. The thread and forum the link relates all to the chat window. Not the game as a whole. But it's in the terms and & cons you clicked then they are open to ban's for cheat infringements. Otherwise its chat window focus.... great link thanks
Angus McGregor Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 I specifically avoided the issues that Hethwill pointed out. His response seemed to be directed entirely towards Grungemonkey and Anolytic's posts, not mine at all. I simply asked how widespread the cheating was, and what was done about it. I have no idea why answering those two questions is so difficult. Whatever... 2
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 https://community.eveonline.com/support/policies/forum-moderation-policy-en/ quoting 16. Posting about bugs and exploits is prohibited. Bugs and exploits should be reported through the proper channels. Do they even read your name, user ? I don't think so. You step on the rule you simply go somewhere and your name will be forgotten. Game moves on. NA has some very clear rules. Common sense also applies. Best rule is - do not press the Submit button if you KNOW for sure you are stepping a rule. And honestly, all trolls, flamers, etc, know they are. 2
