If anyone has been paying attention to the recent threads made by the admin lately there are three new and major changes that will be occurring in the near future. You will also know then that I am strongly for wiping everything on the servers except a players experience points, including crafting.

From what I recall reading, apart from the ship wipe there was no time table stated as to when these changes will occur. If they do occur all at once then I highly suggest wiping the servers clean of all goods, gold, map, and ships of course. If they are released separately then there needs to be a definite wipe once the limited economy slots and balancing of resources occur.

I highly suggest a wipe on the basis of being able to see the true extent of these changes on a fresh server. Currently, the servers are dealing with hyperinflation, population imbalances, among other issues. Issues I could talk on for days about. Issues that would effect the results of the testing if these updates were introduced with simple minor wipes such as only a ship wipe. It would also be a smoother transition for the PvE players who will be losing their server at what I assume will be around the same time. Now, I do not want people to think that I would gain anything out of a wipe. I am Dutch on PvP2 and in the last few months I filled up every port I had, lost everything moving from GB to Dutch, and close to resupplying myself again, Stockpiles of resources I finally started working on although had to halt because of regional control, and also started to rebuild my bank. I am fine with losing this just so the server will be wiped clean of everything that failed prior such as the fine woods, populations temporary drops, and other removed content. I also understand that we are testers and that nothing we have here we should assume to keep once release occurs.

I'll take a full wipe and if not, I'll take a wipe down to some redeemable ships and a fistful of gold. We definitely need the slate cleared to get the economy balanced for launch.

Not to mention the closing of pve and changing pvp2 to global and pvp1 eu adjusting pb hours there will more than likely be a bunch of people moving servers.

The question is, when will the next patch be deployed?

Cause maybe the devs dont have the time to do all they have announced recently. And, we shouldnt wait so much time to test these things, each one are very important for the success of the game.

Agreed. Changes such as the ones they suggested are ones that look to have been in the works for a while. Also since the testbed server has come into being, there was two content items released to the testbed. I do not recall the first content to be released to public servers yet. I am assuming they might be planning one large patch of non-conflicting changes.

A full wipe with redeem based on rank.

Gold and ships based on rank.

The redeeming they do on testbed would work. Just a lot less gold. A lot less. Just enough to get a few frigate class ships and a few outposts

Would be fine with it. Bending over backwards just to keep numbers up isn't really worth it if in the process it compromises testing to the point of developing a defective product.

Though I'm not sure if we need an eco patch first for something to work with or if we shouldn't get an eco patch until we have data on what does and doesn't work at present.

wiping everything will not allow testing of the new ships as materials will be required. Once the ships are gone the effect of the new ships and crafting with restrictions on buildings can be tested, we need materials in the interim to do that so wiping everything  will only delay the testing.

You are only thinking of one aspect of this. What happens if the new ship system does not work with the new economy? We wouldnt know till far later and when it maybe too late based on the fact of the stockpiles people possess. By resetting everything at once then we can test everything at once and adjust. Without a wipe I would be able to easily purchase ships and resources to fund a few individuals and not bother working on testing new economic system being introduced. I am on the poor side of this game. I cant imagine how a rich man can spend his money when the market is flooded and tossed for a loop.
