Liq Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I've never really understood why the sternchaser's accuracy is that significantly better than the bow chasers, it makes it pretty much impossible for someone chasing a ship with the same specs to catch it since the one being chased can simply use chain with great accuracy, while the one chasing has to use ball, due to chain not being accurate enough. Is there any particular reason for it? 4
Pada Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Maybe chain should get the old accuracy level? But it should stay for normal ball shot, I really like sniping masts with 68pd stern carros.
Jeheil Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I have long held the opinion my bow gun crew are closest to the rum stores...so often one shot goes left...the other right...they seem to have a poorer dispersion faction allocated to them. So I am glad its not just my crew Liqui. Now is it a 'thing' in game...not sure...sure feels like it though...is it a thing in life. I do think it might be, my non physicist brain tells me the bow is less stable than the stern as she breaks through the water and is at the point of least displacement. So if I was a sniper I would prefer to be lying at the stern taking aim than the bow...but that could be just me being wrong. 3

Kpt Lautenschlaeger Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 @Sir Texas Sir: That's because your starboard gunners are hitting them rum, whereas your port gunners are restricting themselves to... wait for it... I'm sure you can see that one coming, and it's going to be bad... ...Port. @Jeheil: Plus the stern chasers are facing out of a plane that is pretty much perpendicular to the target, whereas the bow chasers have to be mounted in a curved triangle. Might make it more difficult, I guess. 2
elite92 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 this is for the same reasone we have tons of AI fleets of 1st rate and so and tons of forts and towers: to help carebears 6
Guest sruPL Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 so anyone in situation 1v1 can runaway from you
z4ys Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Still don't know why we don't have a Aming add or autoaiming. Furthermore pressing fire hurts my fingers.

Blackjack Morgan Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 It wasn't always like this and never understood why they made the change other than to help people run away from fights. 1
Cmdr RideZ Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 I understood the patch came after splinter damage. There was that realistic group conversation, and that it should never be that easy, and there should be muskets and everything protecting the stern, etc. I understood this was related to that. Really did not do that much, but...
