In response to lots of positive feedback to a L2tK where I covered Port Battle Tactics I have decided to try and kick off a series where I sit with the Port Battle Commander who led the battle (or even a couple of them if they are up for it). In this one, I have Lord Vicious talking us through a defence of Castries in late January. I implore you, not to comment on the man, but on the tactics. There is always an element of hindsight in any review, however, I know for a fact, that the plan we discuss here, WAS THE PLAN as we went into the port.

Analysis with Augustus Charles Hobart-Hampden

August Charles Hobart-Hampden and LV talk us through a defence in 4th rates of Bridgetown against a Swede-led Eastern Alliance Fleet, enjoy.

Analysis with Redii (PaP).

Its 2am in the morning, the best time of day to chat with Redii, Swedish flagged and well renown captain of the "Easter Alliance". We discuss the tactics used in the defence of Port Au Prince a 4th rate PB.

Analysis with Lord Vicious (Castries).

So please, don't kill the thread with monkey poop throwing.

A huge thanks to Augustus for letting me use his video to focus this discussion on. Its much appreciated.

I would LOVE to sit with some of the other national Port Battle commanders and collect their insights on how they manage a Port Battle. I have alot of time for the skills involved in hearding the wasps that make up a 25 man fleet. The insight to see what is coming, the agility to react the plans collapsing and the ability to do all this while not sailing into the nearest island !!

So please. .

This is such a good initiative, glad you didn't drop the idea. The video synch with the map is another plus.

Funny points to the low rhythm soothing tones, as good academics studying a battle of old :D.

Will expect a head-to-head special with both commanders of one battle down the line.

Fleetcommand on the other side did some mistakes (letting you escape instead pressing you into the land) but overall good battle.

The only thing i have to say "we didnt intend to take A, we wanted to prolong the battle to keep sinking them" and then i look at the teamchat some minutes before where he writes "srupl get inside A stop playing like a retard". :D

PM me if you'd like to do one sometime, would love to get your insights, always enjoy watching your battles.

After battle he apologized to me saying I did a good job. Mortar Brig was shoting me and I was sailing upwind to A. He hit me few times, so I decided to kill the bastard. Got 3 kills and 3 assists and at the end I brawled 1v4 killing 1 more guy while being alone and surrounded.

An excellent video, very enjoyable. Thanks for all your effort making videos in general, looking forward to the milestone of 50 episodes of A Letter to the King.

I think a purchase of Naval Action should come with a small weight to put on the m key during port battles.

Jeheil, great concept for a video (series hopefully).

Looking forward to more of these with different commanders so as to see different play and leadership styles.

Becouse he was chasing the mortar on the other circle instead fighting in A , but i wanted hm there for his full hp ships not for take the point .

(btw in that particular moment i think i wanted him to join b not even A, since he was chasing the mortar brig barely outside b circle)

yah biggest mistake of the enemy fleet was not charge us when we split, and they totally got the wind for charge in and put us between them and the land.
