Charles Caldwell Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I have a question: Is the end of the week in Ukraine the same as the end of the week in the UK.... ie Friday? A Ukrainian end of the week could easily be Sunday for all I know!?!
Harry White Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 literally checking my emails on routine, and the GF is in France for the week end couldn't of planned it better
Charles Caldwell Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 It is Friday in Kiev today. lol sorry I think you misunderstood me... I know its friday in Kiev. Its do they say Friday is the end of the week, Saturday being the start of the weekend! Oooorrrrr do they say the end of the week is the Sunday, the start of the week being Monday! Clearer?

Silent Jäger Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 lol sorry I think you misunderstood me... I know its friday in Kiev. Its do they say Friday is the end of the week, Saturday being the start of the weekend! Oooorrrrr do they say the end of the week is the Sunday, the start of the week being Monday! Clearer? They said the keys would be done in 'batches' during the end of the week(maybe a few batches a day over 3-4 days?) and that the key may come on Monday for some. That is how I interpreted the update. hope it was better lol

MrCuttleFish Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Great. I'm waiting with so much anticipation I can't stop singing shanties.
Absolon Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I think I see some names in this post from the "old" potbs days.. how many were from the POTBS Days when a 6 pack of Privs in HMC's could do some damage in a PB?I really hope this game is more "true" to Combat in the age of sail..and keep the SciFi Fantasy aspect out of it.

I really hope this game is more "true" to Combat in the age of sail..and keep the SciFi Fantasy aspect out of it. Eventhough, I am newer player to POTBS I think that game was way more fun when you could form a fleet of 1st - 2nd rates compared to HMCs or generally ''frigates port battles''. All the tactics, strategy and discipline that needed to be used in a rate pb I think exceeded the fun of older POTBS.
admin Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 I think I see some names in this post from the "old" potbs days.. how many were from the POTBS Days when a 6 pack of Privs in HMC's could do some damage in a PB? I really hope this game is more "true" to Combat in the age of sail..and keep the SciFi Fantasy aspect out of it. I was in potbs since international beta till the end of Russian server. I was also the first owner of pirate pommern hercules frigate on roberts. Some logical sci fi is inevitable by the way. But there will be no magic like break formation. 1
HunHarcos Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Just preordered the game, hope will get my email.
Absolon Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 The PB's that I'm talking about were 4 groups of 6..1 group usually of 1sts and 2nds. 2 groups mixed 3rd and 4th rates, Freetraders, etc 1 solid group of Privateers in HMCs. in those port battles, the Privs could herd along the enemy line. Once both lines engaged, could then work the ends of the enemy line with great effectiveness. I was/and guess I still am Absolon on the Antigua server. to admin.. some logical sci fi is to be expected, but a couple of things I really hope you fixed? timed debuff shots. Either I'm ordering the crew to load a certain shot, and aim a certain way, or I am not. Every time I fire chain, bar, star and the like at their rig, their should be a chance of a cut shroud. Avcom. Never liked POTBS avcomin the least. Never represented what I would consider true ship to ship boarding would look or act like. Who in their right mind let the boarding party form on the bow, while you wait on the stern, and keep your marines/sailors below and only let them out in waves?
ulysse77 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I was in potbs in the first year but rapidly lost interest when i reached lvl 50
Harry White Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I hate black friday, I have had 5 e-mails in the past 30 mins all expecting it to be this right in the feels!
Charles Caldwell Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 The more comments I see about PotBS the more I worry...... hopefully the only similarity between PotBS and NA will be the Sea! 4
Leviathan Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Yes! Nothing against potbs but I hope people bring an open mind to this game and don't bring any potbs baggage to this one. Enjoy Naval Action and let it, and the player base, evolve naturally and see what it becomes. 3
racketyjack Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Well said. Open minds foster imagination.
Hawke Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 POTBS and Naval Action are two very different games, both with unique, enjoyable aspects to them. However NA can not be played like POTBS. 1
