Ok since we don't have craft levels I was wondering what is the new mats needed to build the 3 dura 1st rate ships and such?   Has any one even seen what it takes to make anything of the new stuff.

After trying twice to level up crafting on the testbed and beening reset to 0 befor i was able to reacht any thing interessting level 28 first time and level 31 i have given up on crafting on the testbed. If the want us to test any crafting there they have to give us redemable crafting exp or a option to get lhc some where and maybe some redeemable bp (you can get most bp from breaking up green npc shop ships or cap ships).

Yah I got over 20 the first time it came out and than gave up.   WOuld be nice if they gave us the XP and some BP's to test the crafting part out.

Adding dura to 1st rates is a very big mistake imho. Its going in the wrong direction with durability. I wish the Devs would just give 1 dura for all ships a chance.

As long as it costs 3x more, they can try it out for all I care. The problem the devs seem to be missing is players losing rare gold upgrades on a 1dura ship... That is the real reason casual gamers hate 1dura most of the time. There are some good suggestions in previous posts that could solve the problem of losing rare upgrades.

Any clue when we might see some of this moved to the main server?  We are way over do for a patch and some of the mechanics need to be put into the main game (some exploits fixed) and some would just be nice new changes for most.

Rewards: 39661+5000 gold, 756+200 xp. Repairs: around 6300, Profit: 38000 gold +/- (no crew cost included).

Considering that before it was almost the half, it is an improvement, but still not enough money.

If we do not earn money from combat, we should earn that from trade then?

This is kinda good idea, but also bad.

The good part is that people do combat and trade, and we have plenty of traders sailing the seas.  Kinda creates PvP content right there.

The bad part is...  Do we really, honestly, really honestly, want to sail traders that much?  Will this be in the end that new guys sail traders and experienced captured their hard labor?  Going to be casual friendly?

edit.

One more thing..  It could be balanced so that combat in SOL is never positive income.  Maybe +-0 at 4th rate.  Make it harder for end game players, easier for new guys.

Check your sources once again please. Christian VIII did blow up. Not all men made it out alive. Najaden also blew up at Lyngor after receiving four tons of cannonballs during the battle.

Count the danish sea-battles in 19th century and you will have a good picture. My guess would be approx 50% or more of all major engagements.

At the risk of continuing OT - Can you link your sources on those two battles. As for Christian VIII  that fire was set by heated shot from a fort which was don't have in game. You sure you aren't translating on fire as blowing up in these battles? Usually when a ship blows up 900 men don't survive so there is that.

Again it won't do to have multiple ships blowing up in every OW battle because it is cool. Think on it from the other players perspective and all those ships around him if it happened too easily.

Regarding Christian VIII it is pretty common knowledge that it blew up. Najaden blew up as well. Happy reading.

ok, we get that you like exploding ships.

Imo, there are more important features af the game that need to be sorted out first. I feel like all the small insignificant changes are playing a part in distracting the devs from what is important. I am sure an amicable balance to exploding ships and such will be sorted out in due time, but please, let's all focus on bombarding the devs with good feedback instead of petty "I told you so" ego boosting, and personal insult posts.

Thank you for providing sources. You are right those two exploded - Christian VIII after being bombarded by the fort and surrendering as I noted previously. I still stick with my assertion that when you aggregate all the battles and number of ships vs. explosions it was not common. We'll have to disagree and do as @Syler suggested and get back on topic.

Here is a link of the sea battles of the danish navy. If you count the battles from the 17th century and onwards (to 1848) you will have exploding ships in 7 out of 11 battles. Making my estimation of 75% pretty accurate.

So... Let them ships explode again, please!

I'm liking what I see so far from the test patch, by the way. I started looking at the economic side and it appears they got rid of NPC economic production of 99% of the goods, leaving only trade gods. I still worry the national trade good missions will be printing money, which leads to inflation. With the new trade manifests, a cash payout that large seems too much. I'd sooner have the national goods delivery grant perhaps 150% of normal sale prices, but give several trade manifests that other players might spend more gold acquiring on the marketplace. There, if a trade manifest goes for 100,000g, the gold will be exchanged between players and there won't be any inflation.

Can we maybe get this stuff out as a patch before the other one and get the new test server set up?

Why? A decent chunk of the current testbed is not going to be implemented into the other servers so it would be a waste of dev time to get things fine tuned for the other servers. Not that I am against what you are saying. Just seeing it from another view-point.

Cause some of us been waiting three months for a patch to come out.  We where suppose to get one soon with what was in test server.  Who said what is in there not going to be implemented. I mean the 3 dura part won't be, but I bet you the structure part will be.  How about Pirate vs Pirate?  Some of us want something to do while you carebears are over on PvP1 or what ever your doing instead of fighting us on PvP2.  Now with this patch notice if they don't release the things we where testing or part of it that means we have to wait another 2-6 (more like 8 cause they said end of April) weeks before we get any thing new.

To be back on topic:

I've looked on the admiralty and i don't get the point on Trader manifest.

I've seen that mark of courage and mark of battle can be exchange in a way to allow pve players to get rewards as the pvp players. but what about changing trading manifest into mark of courage?

Second question, the trading manifest so far can be created by exchange but just in a way to get BP. Wh to not allow a trading captain to acquires stuff like figurehead too? I don't think player have to be punish to not play the game people want them to play. We are in a mmo sandbox and a trader should be able to get as many reward as someone fishing or someone pvping.
