jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Not that its that important, just venting: 1. Chicken coop... really? WTF 2. No visible steering on deck, ninja steering in the chicken coop? WTF 3. No outside railings on the gangway, lose crew much, WTF 4. No bow chasers, on a ship this size, brilliant, if true the original deserved its fate due to all these. Feeel so much better, tnx for not reading 2
OlavDeng2 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 dont mock the fap shack, every man needs his privacy! 3
jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 you mean a place for manly comforting? noooooooooooooooo, not manly comforting again pleeeese 1
JeanJacques de Montpellier Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Use google for your answers. There is no need to spam on the forum. In any case I am attaching two pictures, where you can see some things that you asked. 1
jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 Spamming? Really? French sensitivity much? your pictures prove my points, there are netting/railings on the model as is a steering wheel visible, neither is on the NA model. Have a lovely day
jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 Definition: spamming send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.
Snoopy Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 The ship, as modeled, is not cleared for action. And yeah, no chasers is something I truly don't understand. Same with Pavel, Belle Poule, Essex,..

JeanJacques de Montpellier Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 (edited) The majority of the NA vessels haven't "netting / railings". As for the bow chasers it seems that there weren't in some pictures that i've seen around. Obviously i think if there was need the ability to move some cannon in the front position. Maybe there isn't the steering wheel in the NA model, you are right about that.* PS: i find this pic on NA Buc. model; and there is the rudder wheel.  Edited January 27, 2017 by JeanJacques de Montpellier
Ned Loe Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 (edited) I told them to remove that stupid chicken house, but instead they painted it black. What a joke. Make it low profile or get rid of it. Edited January 27, 2017 by Ned Loe

I beg to differ on railings, from what I can tell the only other ship lacking outer gangway {partial deck connecting the fore and rear decks) railings/netting is St Pavel
jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 All other ships with gangways have them

The hull lines are correct, the decks are nicely done etc. Not sure if troll.. About spamming. There is a point about that. The hut has been discussed in the shipyard. search for "bucentaure". The hut will stay where it is. The helm is behind the stairway to the poopdeck. For all (well most at least) ships of the lines the rudder helm is completely enclosed by the poopdeck. Having the rudder at that location makes it more secure to sharpshooters from the tops. The Bucentaure is a "80" gunner. Just as the Consti was a 44 gunner. *cough*Â everybody has their own meassures and interpretations about almost anything. This vessel would still be rated a 3rd rate however. Altho her firepower is closer to a 1st rate than any 3rd rate in service.. 2

When functionally they should be identical.  Bucentaure was an 80+ gun ship. As such it is a third rate, like the 74, under the Royal Navy rating system (which only counted cannons) but it is a very different animal really. Under the the French rating system where these ships originated, 80gunners were not in the same category as the 74, and it is probably fair to say they are first rates without the third deck (that can sail) rather than upgunned 74. 'razeed first rates' if you will, but that implies something done on the cheap to obsolete vessels which the 80 gun ships really weren't. Bucentaure was a heavier ship than HMS Victory (though close).

[..] I think what he means is to have a rebuild without the shed (and perhaps in a more combat ready state). It would be awesome to have ship variants in the game for this .. say Bucentaure with and without the shed. A later version with built up head. Victory with her stern as launched (including no Spanker) and at Trafalgar and the version we have now. This could be premium content.. purely cosmetic changes. E:D calls them ship kits and they are making a killing on it.

jnovotny6 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 and the coop is the reason french lost Trafalgar
maturin Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Maybe Nelson would have survived Trafalgar if he could have commanded from a chicken coop with one-way mirrors. 5
