Is a good team game, not a wargame. That's as far as I can say, as the focus is 1 ship, 1 crew, several "officers".

It is quite the old suggestion of "outlaws", 1 ship, 1 crew, treasure and infamy.

I like that a region is a full instance that needs to be navigated and full of "who knows what we will find".

I think they will have 5 guys team x3, operating the ship, fighting and doing missions, treasure adventures. I love the map and how you can interact with everything. This is the kind of map NA should have. Simple yet very detailed.

Everyone is pirate at the start. Nations are factions you can join.

Clans fight over ports and nations too.

Better, if you imagine that warships and naval captains spring up out of the ocean as depicted above.

As OP says, hopefully NA can take some cues from these other games, graphically speaking.  I'm sure judging by the slickness of the dev update video, they have a much larger team than Game Labs.

Disappointed to see yet another dopey pirate fantasy theme.  Like Long John Silver's commercials in the 70s.

By the way, Blackwake just hit early access on the steam store in case anyone's interested. Not bad for some quick fun and swashbuckling, though I wish it was a bit slower paced/realistic and it's having some issues with the unity engine at the moment.
