Game Resolution Won't Change

I've been having issues changing the in-game resolution of UG: Civil War. Changing the resolution setting in-game and hitting "apply" does not change the game's resolution, and the setting always reverts back to the default no matter what. I've also tried changing my monitor resolution and my GPU's forced game resolution options to try and fix the game's resolution but nothing seems to work, the in-game resolution is always the same.

I play with my computer connected to an HDTV rather than a monitor and the UG: Civil War default resolution is too large to display correctly on my TV, meaning that text and buttons often overlap eachother, and certain dialog boxes (like the army composition screen boxes) are too big to fit onto the screen. 

Thanks in advance, what i've played of the game so far is great, but this resolution issue might become a deal-breaker for me.
