Saintduiex Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 In the US tomorrow is Veterans day where we take a moment to thank those that serve for our country. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the military veterans who are on these boards everyday, from all over the globe, for your service to your country and to the Naval Action communitity. Especially you swabbies 5
Comandante Gómez Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Greetings from Spain to those American Veterans!. History, of course, wont forget them.
Edward Vernon Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Saint....I thank you (as a veteran) for your thanks to us all. A noble and much appreciated gesture. The US has always placed an overtly higher value on it's veterans than the UK (sadly it is part of our nature to be somewhat understated about such matters) but we are learning and beginning to catch up. 2
NorthernWolves Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Cheers Saint, that is very kind. I always dread today for various reasons, one of which is the thanks I get, I don't even want to log into Facebook, simply because I don't feel anyone needs to say it, it's humbling. I also don't know whether to say to people 'you're welcome' or 'thanks for saying thanks' or 'my pleasure', because after all I volunteered. We are fortunate that people actually want to say thanks, 30 years ago it wasn't exactly the case for vets coming home from SE Asia. So, anyway, cheers, hope everyone had the day off 1

Well your country certainly put on a hell of a display, it is very impressive. The whole country coming to a stop? Amazing. The moment of silence at all the football grounds, good luck getting that to happen here haha. Well in lads, well in. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-30000333 1
Charles Caldwell Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 The moment of silence at all the football grounds, good luck getting that to happen here haha. Thats normally ok, you always get a few idiots shouting, but they are booed silent.
Hyperion74 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Hello Lads. Due to a winter storm here at home, I missed Veterans on the 11th and the Marine Corps Birthday on the 10th. In the avation business just a skiff of snow or frost will keep a plane from launching with out deice. I had one hell of a time trying to keep our gear ready through rapidly dropping temps. Couldn't log on. Enough with airplane drama. To all fellow vets/warriors like myself. Take time to be proud of your service and remember who you enlisted for. To my fellow Marines, Happy Birthday and Semper Fi, Oooh Rah!
farside505 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 From one Veteran to all the Veterans of all Nations... Thank you all for your service to your Country.
