vazco Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 It would be great if skirmishers would have an option to turn off their default retreat mode. Skirmishers armed with short-range colts are simply useless othwerwise, as they have to be constantly micro-managed to fire. 4
Mr. Mercanto Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Agreed. Or at least, if they only fell back when the enemy advanced, and maintained the enemy in range.
RoverGrover Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Yeah, the micro on those is really harsh for the results. Yet another reason I prefer ranged cav honestly. They wheel back quicker which makes me have to be less concerned about them taking return fire due to walking back and forth for no clear reason. 1

They do, it's called the Hold button, it's just a little sketchy about working half the time. If they didn't retreat and they were equipped with short range weapons they'd probably take return fire, though, which they're less equipped to absorb.
Mr. Mercanto Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I'd like a button which orders them to keep the enemy in their range, and withdraw as they advance.

In practice I absolutely cannot seem to get that to work. If I hold them before engagement, the enemy stays out of range and blasts them. If I try to hold once they're engaged, the command does nothing seemingly. If anything, it seems to just confuse them.
