Skill points s rewards for battles

I just won shiloh and got a reward of one army organization point. This makes me wonder, should I hold of on leveling army organization, because if I max it out, will these skill pints be wasted?

It's a bit misleading the army organization point it says you get because it is only giving you a corps and not an actual point in the career path. 

You don't need to max out army org. for now but be sure to have 5 I think it is so you can have 20 brigades per corps which is the max allowed in the battles past Gaine's Mill
