Is there weather in this game? Weather is always a big factor in real warfare.

There is not :). It could prove an interesting variability in the battles if weather would change from battle to battle as you play the campaign.

Losing your tent because enemy forces rushed your camp surely ain't fun in anything else than mild summers

There's no weather, but it sure is dark in the dawn raids. Cross Keys and Everettsville come to mind. I'd turn up the gamma if there was an option for it.
