Once in a while I log on. If Im not into a large battle within 10 min of gameplay I log off. Its the pain limit of waiting for me. So far the empty world is still there. Nothing has changed. What a disappointment.

The game is still a trading-pirate game. Not the naval game I was looking for. Could you not change the title to something like "Blackbeard" or "Trading Company" or something similar?

Sounds perfectly reasonable for you to expect 49 other people waiting on you to log in and start a full battle/Port battle when you do

Theres always the small/large battle event btw, which has become increasingly popular ;)

Tonight after the patch release less than 500 players where online on the giant map. If I need to fight it out versus other players I need to find other games. Still. Cant believe they have blown this totally.

If you're looking for instant gratification, then try (as others have suggested) small or large battles.

And if that is still not your thing, then go try World of Warships. There you queue up and get your insta-battles within 2-3 minutes.

A game with the level of depth and immersion of Naval Action is apparently not meant for you.

Amen! I've said it many times. Even look at my signature.

i wish devs would change the game title "naval action" to something else,  like "age of sail" or similar,    looks like lot of ppl missinterpret  the title and think its a lobby or instant action game

I dont mind The OW concept and advanced to highest level on pvp alone. Problem is that pve players and pirate style players overtook the forums and the game got boring. Joining timers killed the game.

I highly recommend getting Outposts in free ports, example La Désirade. It's like a 10 min sail to the French Capital, I've been getting good results on fights down there.
You can't expect to sail out of the Capital for 10 minutes and people bringing fights to you.

Not only is this not your game you're doing it wrong see above post by Liquicity.

I do admit to being a bit of a fanbois and am still get gratification from how stunning this game looks but anybody who thinks PVP is hard to find needs to rethink their strategy because it is most definitely there if that's what you genuinely want.

Well, to be fair, it is a bit tough for us Yanks when the pop drops later at night.  But that is our own fault.  90% of the time I can find PvP when I want, even if it is nearly never remotely even.  As soon as it approaches even, everyone seems to run for some reason.

Main problem imho. The majority of players have a strange definition of PVP. Like you said, running and fleeing (often accompanied by insults) if the fight is somewhat even but on the other side always go for one sided ganks like a 5v1 even if there are other more fair and fun opportunities in the near vicinty.

I also bet that the majority of this majority are the people who cry about dying PVP. There are many exception to this and that's why it is still fun for me to play but this is what I mostly encounter and observe. That we don't get our loved PVP is mostly our own fault.

No. Its never the players fault if a game gets boring.

The thing is that this game WAS a game for me.

It was when I joined the D-N nation and the joining timers was 15 min. All nations was at war with eachother and it as easy to find a battle. Some you won and some you lost. But it was great fun and a good challenge. Now it's just boring in a way that makes players leave.

These forums are spawned with players that hate the idea of a battle-enriched environment.

Don't get it.

Sadly the amount of timer exploit was absurd. Skully posted a thread with all the things, invisibility tags for example, invisible frog leaps, and a dozen more others, that could be done with timers above 2 minutes.

Most of us did face them for far too long and due to us players being a-holes and destroying good ideas with vicious exploits we have to player with - what you see is what you get. It is a good compromise.

Maybe you didn't have to endure those exploits. Good for you :)

Its only when you lost you felt exploited. It went two ways.

Now I don't play the game anymore. Like 3/4th of the player base, I left becorse I didn't have the 2-3 hours to find a fight where players fled.

It's a true bore now.

ROE should be infinite and the players should spawn from distance related to time. A lot if interesting fights would appear.

What you see is what you get right now: an empty world.

Why aren't you out on on OS with signal perk creating open battles?

Prob cause he's taking so much time complaining on here.  I mean all I seen him every do is complain and complain.   I'm going to bet most of ya'll prob never seen him much on the OW on PvP1 (since I'm sure he's not on PvP2).   Man if you put as much energy into the game as you do bitching you might actually find it fun.   Oh and many of us do find it fun, but I also understand this is an EA ALPHA TESTING not a full blown game release.   I'm here to have fun and help test the game for the final product.   You apparently don't seem to be here for that reason.

All I did was to get myself involved in one of the best game; ive played. Ranked up to max level on PvP alone. Crafted to max level. Made a clan and tried to organized stuff. The truth is that this game somehow lost the glue that made it great. I have used several hours on this forum to point out what flaws this game has. All I meet is a bunch of whiners who think this game is in good order. It has been a better game that it is now. Without a doubt.

Its not hard to imagine that if you cut down joining timers on  battles, you also cut down joining timers on the stuff MOST players are looking for.

Let me give you an example:

10 battles a 15 minutes give you 150 minutes to join a fight.

10 battles a 2 minutes give you approx 20 min to join a fight

instant pulling in 10 baqttles give you: no time to join a fight.

As any game like this is a social feature, this game has taken a direction away from the social aspect. You cannot help your friends or protect the nation versus invaders. There are no way you can log in and find a quick fight in OW. Not gonna happen.

All these things combined killed all I liked and many more than me. Now this game is terrible compaired with what it was before. Ganking is something that ALWAYS work both ways regardless of ROE. Unfortunately this has been one of the arguments to cut down on the fun.

You well doing so well. Had me nodding in at least partial agreement right up until that last sentence.

No idea why you felt it necessary to switch from logical debate to impuning everyone's... courage?

I don't blame you for being frustrated, I am too. But this is not the way to get people to listen to your ideas.

Sorry, I don't think advice from non-players is useful.

Why not hop on TeamSpeak and discuss it with everyone?

oh, yeah, sorry....
