Mission Screen: Battles section

[Challenge]

How does this work?

I'm on the PvE server atm and someone suggested I and someone I was chatting with click on Small Battle in this screen when we were looking to hunt pirates for combat practice. I haven't found any description here or on the Wiki.

This feature open an instance for instantly PvP.

Due to low game population, you have no chance to find a match unless you find an opponent by yourself (one of your friends, or recruiting in nation/global chat).

Both sides have to be the same BR. Duels are for 1v1, small battles are for 3v3/4v4.

Thanks. Do I have to have opponents set in advance? Do I push buttoms and wait hours for someone to show up?

You can do either one.  On the PVE server you may be better off getting Missions against AI using the Combat Missions tab. If you want to duel players of course there is always PvP server as you are more likely to find an opponent for Small Battle.

I don't know if this works on PvE, but if you announce in global chat. Like, who wants to join small battles at 20:00, and then repeat it a couple of times. And if your lucky you'll get a couple of guys in small battles then. Maybe also state like "5th rates or below", to keep it a tad even.

Works a charm on PvP server.
