Why can't I delete my own post(s)?

I can maybe understand not allowing me to delete one of my posts if it's no longer the last in the thread. Others may have responded to what I said. But if it is the last one, why can't I delete my own post if I reconsider and now want to erase it?

As a practical solution, just edit it and report it so that moderators can remove it for you.

current  forum software does not allow deletion, even to moderators.we can hide those post (and ofc As Anolytic said  will do if you so request)
