Ixal Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 I just wonder, what is your typical day in NA like? Mine starts with me jumping between all my outposts to harvest resources and use up my LHs for production. Most likely that involves shipping material between ports. That means 1 hour+ of sailing. If the waters become too dangerous I log off right here as I can't switch ports when I fled into a port without an outpost. Maybe I can dodge all enemies and complete my trade run but my motivation to keep playing is usually pretty low at this point. I might also log off when I lack fine wood which is pretty much impossible to get as all other crafting is pointless at that point. I might switch into a hunting ship and sail around a bit, but usually I only NPC fleets out of my weight class or larger gank squads or even nothing at all. In very rare cases I find another lone player hand have a nice PvP fight, but that is really unlikely. Instead of the above I might do a combat mission in a near port, not to raise hostility but just to have a fight, but the always same setup has become boring and usually after 1 fight I have enough. Either way, that includes my day in NA. Not surprisingly, my motivation to start up the game the next day gets lower and lower. 1
Capitaine LaFleur Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 I haven't spent much time on the game, check in once in awhile to see what is happening. Someone tried to ambush me the other day while sailing down for a mission. Much bigger ship and I was not in the mood to get the crap kicked out of me, so I disconnected. I knew something was up, when he closed on me. Kinda big fish, little fish scenario, but I'm not interested in constantly having to replenish in this fashion. So right now, long term no plans.
Anne Wildcat Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Recently, when no one else from my small clan is on, I've been doing trade missions. It's kind of fun trying to get into other nations capitals in a trade ship. Imho, some nations need to patrol their capital more. Or I may take out my rattlesnake & look for small AI ships or traders to battle in shallow water areas, not the noob zone, and if I run into player traders, I'll try to get them but they more than likely escape. If clan mates are on, we will go out in a small group in our light frigates looking for PVP. Yesterday I was in a 2v1 2 surprises vs 1 Connie (yes, we were the 2). I haven't played in a while & messed up two beautiful chances to stern rake by firing early ?, although one was a misfire as my finger slipped. I always find find something to do. 1

No screening patrols outside capital port is maybe due to the capital county conditions. The following is definitely true for KPR. The total lack of missions, having to sail elsewhere anyway. Constant enemy presence outside all its ports. It's within easy reach of most other nations being at the center of the map. Invulnerable to hostility and PBs so there's no reason to defend it other than ... patriotism?. So on PvP1, a *lot* of Brits have abandoned Surrey county (KPR) and only go there because it remains the center of the Brit player economy. Probably easier for you to go there than me. Finger slipped huh? Got a little excited did we? Edited November 12, 2016 by Angus McGregor
Liq Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Mine starts with leaving La Désirade in my surp, passing Camp Du Roy, visiting the french capital, hope for some lone traders, have a look at the silver place Castries, make a loop around that island, head back north, scout around, back to Désirade, group up with someone and repeat =) 1
Mrdoomed Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 These days, i teleport out of my clan capital ( different than the faction capital that i abandoned 11 months ago) and patrol the waters, sink or capture anyone smaller and attack anyone larger and hope they make a mistake or panic so i can cap them ( a proper pirate is full on for boarding) and if not i settle in for a 90 minute dance. Even if i cant beat them i want them to know comming to my turf means a fight and a long one if needed. After that i Teleport to all the ports that never have action anymore pop out and look then teleport to the 3 ports that have action and do patrols around them Looking for trade ships to capture. I used to craft ( lvl 50 here) but now without fine wood i cant. 1
Snoggy Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Log in, see who's on, see only 1 or 2.... make some notes, log off. 1
Ixal Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Just to emphasize what I meant: I logged on at about 12:30. Sailed a Indiamen from Pedernales to Terre-de-Bas to deposit wood to my crafting center and continued to Gustavia for a delivery order. Arrived at 14:10 and logged off for the day. What have I accomplished? Nothing much. And when I log back again I have to first sail my ship back to an Outpost I have which will probably be all I will do on that day.
Angus McGregor Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I don't do much more than log in, check my contracts, harvest resources at my outposts, sail my LGV trade route to get the resources back to my home port, craft some stuff, place some contracts, Log out. I'm not doing much in the way of Delivery contracts - the profit margins usually don't justify the risk of where I have to take them. Sometimes I can get a better price by just selling the goods to the same port's Shop. WTH?? I'm not doing PvP or PvE combat because I'm waiting for the devs to definitively respond to my big 3 negative issues throwing battle survivors right back into the exact same location (frying pan) battle screen late entry spawning into the middle of battle (teleporting in) battle screen camping (Romulan cloaking) Either deliver a patch with a proposed fix, or just say "we have no plans to change this for the next 'x' months." I've seen forum/chat comments about other things that may have changed but without confirmation, they're just rumors. I've seen zero in the announcement/patch notes section about them. Devs, please don't be intimidated by the flamethrowers who never like any changes. Haters gonna hate. Keep the info coming! Just don't read the reviews.
Atreides Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Log in, see what I caught fishing. if I have a bottle go pick up the wreck. craft some parts. TP to enemy waters looking for any traders, or engage in some PVP. OR . .. log in see nation or clan chat talking about hostility rising, team up on TS and join a fleet for national defense/create hostility. Depends on how much time I have to play, and what is going on in the conquest tab.

The_Scipio Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Mine start by not starting the game at all, which have been the reality for a long time. Until I hear at the game is on the right path and fun again, I intend to continue letting the game collect dust. 1

Guest Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Log in. Harvest resources. Spend labour hours on anything. Maybe a short trading run while playing something else to maybe eventually get one of the "new" ships crafted, Check if there's any PBs at all or at and at a day/time that I'll be able to attend. Log out to play something else.

Inigo Balboa aka Ronda Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 1) harvest my forests. Mostly compass wood... means postpone ship crafting for another day [sigh] 2) check out contracts 3) read chats 4) sail to pick up stuff from the "bottle" shipwreck 5) check if there are any PBs... ok, now I see why my game lags so much... 6) log out
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 As a national, nowadays 1. kickoff TS and cheer everyone and have advance word on what's going on. 2. Login and immediately plan the session cruise. 3. Go wherever action is planned - squadron pvp, trade escort, coast guard, etc 4. If nothing planned, check server time, consult my notes of scouted trade routes and go sea roving. 5. Spend two hours doing 3 or 4, usually with two pvp encounters.
Long John Saliva Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Log in, Craft wood, sell wood making a paltry 20 a time which is time wasting in itself, quick sail then log out. No time for hours in end anymore sailing to make some gold.
Mrdoomed Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 1 Read forums to see if game is still anti smart player pro carebear . 2 See that it is. 3 play different game.
Sir Texas Sir Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Pop into teamspeak and lately it's been about an hour before servers all go down. Than I log into the game with my Main Piratea nd my alt Pirate. I do econ to burn the hours (do this about every 2-3 days). I see if there is any port battles and than just chat in TS until servers go down. When they do I log out and go to bed. I been playing other games lately just to do something different. I think many of us got the burned out bug and I think I have too. Hell I actually been playing WoT lately and I retired from that game like a year ago. I'll prob be on a lot this weekend since I won't be going any where for the holidays and be mostly home alone. Maybe we get that new patch with some new stuff to mess with soon. I don't mind the new crafting system. What I don't like is every wood I been doing is 99% compass wood I get on the side and not the fine wood so I'm stuck with all this wood I don't really need tons up and while I need compass wood I don't need that much of it. I been trying to level the alt char up to Rank 10 and Crafting 50 like my main, but it's hard to make ships for folks that want special orders when you can't get the fine materiel needed even if it's the common woods of Oak, Teak and Fir.

Been seeing a lot of traders in them and well if the stupid ROE actually work and keep out the AI's than I'm game for the hunting.

No players outside the rookie zone and even if there was I would have to fight both the players AI fleet and then the regular 23 ai ships pulled in . All for some cargo that i cant build a ship with anymore lol. Since this game is well on its way to being a lobby moba game i just went back to one i already had thousand hours invested in hahaha .
