Polish had a navy when a king want to (becaue a election type of monarchy they dont had most of time a "father wanted fleet so do i" syndrome.). As i told, in this years most of powerhouse on Baltic are Dutch and Sweden, altough we had some big days too. Like kicking a that major power ass some time to time. Mostly between them kicking our asses.

Work in a building named for HMS Grenville that once housed part of the Admiralty Surface Weapons Establishment. C. Can see HM Naval Dockyard Portsmouth, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860 from the office window. D. I live on a boat that is the namesake of several important RN ships, including a 74. I think you can guess my answer.

That's the whole premise for ever being allowed to become a privateer. I'm also not sure about nations actually receiving specific benefits over another. As far as I know, all nations have access to the same things, and aren't given perks. I could be wrong, but that's what would make the most sense to me.

But looking at history and the likely timeframe: I see it would be a tad problematic: Do we have a set timeframe which open world will be representing ? If not, we have a load of different Dutch navies we can pick from: Pre-1795: Navy of the United Provinces of the Netherlands. (The very one which stole the HMS Royal Charles from Chatham, see: "Raid on the Medway") 1795-1806: Repubican Navy of the Batavian Republic (basicly a French puppet) 1806-1810: Navy of the Kingdom of Holland (still a French puppet, only more Royal) 1810-1813: French Imperial Navy (French annexation) 1813 onward: Royal navy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. (The Kingdom we know today) Interesting to see which one will be representing the Netherlands. Personally, I would very much be interested to sail under the Batavian Flag: Being autonomous while still keeping another Nation's interest in mind, would make for some interesting gameplay I feel. If not, my first choice would be to sail under the colours of my homeland regardless: The Netherlands has so much maritime history, it's amost too good to pass up. Second choice would be France, if only to oppose the British who always think they can rule the waves. Plus I'm very much a Republican: Liberté! égalité! Fraternité! The English may indeed rule the world's oceans, but they certainly won't do so unopposed if I have anything to say about it! (yay for friendly rivalries)
