Once the servers are merged many people will have to make a choice between playing the nation they want but be excluded from everything because they dont speak the language or to play a nation they dont.

If pirates remain a republic at launch we want to play france but only speak English or spanish so we will not be able to because most people have mentioned and twitch confirm large portions of European players play the faction they speak an russian all play por5.

I have played games that have chat translation built in so people can all talk. Will this game do this or do yiu have plans for this?

Well, respectfully, if you and I get forced onto pvp1, I don't plan to start speaking French.  Doubt you will either.  I doubt my other French friends that plan to remain French faction will be taking language lessons either in order to play.  So I don't see a real issue with it, other than a translation utility might help us be more cohesive.  I will still be able to chat with my friends and clan.

But even if there were conversations of more than one language in the nation chat going on at once that wouldn't be a big deal to me.

I'm curious what those other games were using within their chat systems, or was it a third party piece of software that you had to activate?

online games are the best way of learning a foreign language we have an american who spend alot of time in german University but they only talked english with him dispite him wanting them to speak german so he could not learn it. in the end he learned german with the aid of a german guild in swtor.

I think we will end up being US. If we can even play.

I done a lot of work in Brazil and wanted to learn Portuguese while down there. I got a basic grasp of Spanish and French so it wasn't to hard to understand a lot of the words.  The problem was every one wanted to work more on there English than me learning Portuguese from them...lol

Though a few of those workers did learn the hard way that just cause I couldn't speak it, didn't mean I couldn't understand it.  Hell I use to be fluent in Japanese after living there for 3 years.  Though after 20 something years I can barely remember a few words but I understand it every time I rent a movie enough I don't need the subtitles.

I found the majority of the players will try to work with you during times like Port Battles and such.  When I was playing on Roberts and before the the Aussie Server on POTBS we had a lot of Russians in the Spanish nation and they would do as best they can with keeping to English when in battles to help each other.   Though TS some times was a problem cause they could maybe type it better than they could speak it.

Hell we have been in a few fights with the Danes on the PvP2 server and they are mostly Chinese I believe and we can still get the basics across.  Though doing trade tends to do a lot of google translations or funny conversations.

fixed...see what happens when you type to fast and don't proof read what auto correct puts in place of what it thinks your typing.

I know if a merger happens I am going to the Stars and Stripes.

I also plan on being VERY American about the language barrier.  I speak two languages, American-English, and Appalachian-English (aka Hick).

You gonna be sporting a Battle Flag when we get to customize our own banners?
