ArthurVince Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 (edited) Is it an idea to put some Spooky Ghost ships into the game? - Some destroyed enemy ships with no crew on it, becomes Ghost ships. - Hard to find, but if you beat them, it give you Historical Artifacts, and a lot of XP. - Give those ships historical names like for example: The Flying Dutchman" - Let them be Greenish and spooky if you see them in a big storm. - No crew on it, but a lot of gold in the Hold.. - A good idea for a trophy-hunt for Ship clans.. ;-) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Dutchman https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_ship http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/llirik_koo/post95352315/ Edited October 22, 2016 by ArthurVince

Ghosts...goblins...magic, etc. not desired in an Age of Sail game that seeks to be based on history and realism (at least that is my humble opinion). 6

But in that time, the sailors really believed in Ghost Ships.. It was a daily story telling buisiness.. and a part of the daily life.. Now we see all such things as part of the hollywood disney movie buisiness..

Shall we also add those things into the game?

Everyone knew that the earth had the size it actually is ... and that is was too big to sail all the way to Japan and china going west. (and it was) Then men who tried to stop his trip was correct in their opposition to it. Columbus thought that he knew better and tried to sail to Asia.... He was just lucky that there was a continent in the way otherwise he would have been lost at sea with all hand an none of us would have remembered his name. Edited October 24, 2016 by thomas aagaard
Chijohnaok Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 actually, sorry to be a pain about this, but in the age of sail it was well known allready that the earth was round, when colombus sailed to the americas it was allready known the world was round, it was figured all the way back to the ancient greeks that the world was in fact round OK, so scratch one of the three examples that I gave. They also told stories of mermaids, Krakken/sea monsters, and sailing off the ends of the Earth because it was flat. Shall we also add those things into the game?
