Destraex Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I was wondering if the people complaining about the grind might be doing so because they wanted to try SOLs right off the bat. That lead me to think perhaps their should be a grind in the small ships that then leads to the unlocking of two streams a little like WOWs does it. You get to the corvettes and get the choice to gain SOL XP in an ingy or frigate XP in a cerberus? I suppose since XP is kept now we cannot change this though. Just a thought. 1
as24862486 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 This Game now is really quickly to gain more XP. (Remember when this game released on Steam) Dunno what newbie are think about
Destraex Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 I think that XP was reasonably quick yes. But for new players it can be hard in the smaller ships. I am the kind of person that enjoys leveling past the small ships... small ships are fun. But a lot of players want frigates right away, what they perceive as real ships. Maybe give them a basic frigate - access to unlock one frigate only. Then make them level past the small ships to gain access to the other frigates and SOLs
Haratik Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Not to go off topic but this system of commanding smaller ships to get into larger ones is exactly what I wish World of Warships was. I think the performance of the general population would dramatically improve if forced to learn how to play smaller boats and work their way up.That being said, and back on topic, you would have to remove the officer ranking system for this to even be possible, otherwise you'd conceivably have Jr Lieutenants running around in Bellonas, or at least attempting to, looking little better than Jack Sparrow and Will Turner attempting to commandeer the Dauntless. It's just all sorts of wrong and tosses any idea of realism out the window and brings this game closer to that dangerous world of fantasy. 1
Sir Texas Sir Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 It's really not that hard to grind up the levels, but you should not be maxed out in a week or even month to be honest to many new games let you get to max level way to fast. That and most games won't even let you touch things like 1st rates or SOL until you hit a certain tier. You can if some one gives you one man a 1st rate as a rank one char. Way under crew, just remember all the Buccs folks capped from undercreweed newbies?
manuva85 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 What grind? They are giving you xp for literaly everything now... Im afraid to go to toilet bcs i might gain xp for that too. If anyone says there is too much grind now, he never played a mmo, nor for his sanity should he try to play na, when it fully releases. There will be only more grind from this point on. 3

If new player don't want to learn advanced combat skills or accumulated teamwork experiences they never know "How did I sank" I know Moder want branch tech tree like WOWS (BB, CL/A, DD ,CV) (I was WOWS Closed-Alpha Tester.) Quickly to gain what they want
Lurken Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 if you played a while back you whould have gotten a 2nd rate even as a noob, now they can try the big sluggish behemoth and hate it like everyone else =)
Jacob Elston Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 To be fair, my personal opinion is that, given the time-period, there are way too many SOL's in the Caribbean to be historically accurate. So, with that out of the window, I still think that the SOL should be harder to get. I did think it was odd during my day 1 of OW to see a huge mass of SOLs sitting outside of KPR in the greenzone watching a swarm of enemy ships trying to entice them out.
