Rikard Frederiksen Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 (edited) It is amazing how a short video can teach so much. Sadly, when I started NA I didn't even think to look at tutorials - I'd pick it all up, of course. Well, no. When I took the time to check out how to tack properly, my capability when sailing in combat increased exponentially. There is a lot to be said for the humble Lynx too.Honestly, once you get a ship you really like, don't sweat the ranks. 1000+ hours in game, and I'm still just a Commodore in a Trinc. (Though I'm interested in seeing the Endymion.) The Lynx is a cracking little ship, it is a favourite, alongside the Pickle. Personally, at Flagkaptajn, I'm happiest in my smaller ships. Sadly, I do get the feeling that for many people the race is on to get the biggest ships, because biggest generally equals the best in MMO games, but that doesn't always equate to the most fun in NA. No matter what rank I am or the ships I have, I'll always feel a pang, a longing for the Surprise, Rattlesnake, Pickle, and Lynx. Edited October 19, 2016 by Rikard Frederiksen 5
diomedesbc Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I too remember when I realized how much fun it was sailing some of the early ships like the Privateer and Lynx. I still find myself go out for cruises and attacking AI in my Privateer. Lots of fun!
