New laptop, cannot access game on steam

I have just replaced my lod laptop which died but I cannot access the game on steam on this new machine.

Steam wants me to buy another copy, but if I do that I will have to start again frim the beginning.

Any ideas?

If it's a new computer have you authorized it to be used with your steam account?  Than all you have to do is just download any game you have on steam.  I'm beating this is the issue.

well the obvious first question is, did you log in to the same account you were using on your old laptop?

Yes, Steam says application not found.

Are you logging into steam by your browser?   Yah you need to download the steam app and than once you log into it should list your games you have bought and than you have to install the game on your computer.

log in with your old account which you used to play the game on before

the game is on your steam account forever.
