Herpaderp64 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) So i came on today to find i had only 4 members so i asked one of them why he left and apparently the clan was not "active" enough well let me just think for a moment if lets say we only had 8 members including myself then of course it won't be very active i said on multiple occasions we need at least 20 members before we started taking the fight to the gankers and reclaimed jamaica however it seems they did not have the same amount of patience i did and decided that they would rather leave which has almost broken my will to carry on with this game. The point of this post however is very different. The point of this post is to ask you the community for help i don't know what to do i feel betrayed and my will to go on is hanging by a thread now what do i do? how do i rebuild? how do i overcome this obstacle? should i carry on? (this is now invalid as the clan is built back up under a new name) Edited December 4, 2016 by Herpaderp64
Konali89 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Clan members leaving because they have different beliefs or opinions is normal, although very demotivating for the clan leader(s). The only thing you can do is find mindliked players that more or less have the same goals in this game/nation and build up with them. If the struggle is too hard, you can always jump to other clans and feel how things are going there. In the clan i am in, we have seen many guys leave and come back. It is a natural process and dont give up just because of that. However if you feel you can achieve more by joining other clans, maybe feel free to do so. 1
Herpaderp64 Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) thanks Konali for that really appreciate the advice i think i have an idea of merging my clan (what remains of it) with one of my friends clans since he is more of a leader than i am and hes played this for a lot longer too (i had to this frog is just hilarious) change nation? become what my clan was designed to fight off? hmmmmmmmmmm Edited September 20, 2016 by Herpaderp64

There are many small(er) Clans in most nations. There is nothing against finding other small clans and organizing multi-clan joint operations to 'take it to the enemy'. Many, if not most port battles (at least in the US nation on PvP1) are made up of US players from multiple clans and even independent/non-clan members. So ask around for other clans in your nation that would be interested in conducting joint PB/hunting/anti-ganking patrols. I'm pretty sure that you will find some interested in doing so. Bramborough Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 1. Clan members come and go for various reasons. That's universal for all clans, in all MMOs. Don't sweat it. 2. Putting an arbitrary number as a goal and articulating that was a minimum necessary to begin coordinated clan operations was, in my opinion, a mistake. You might've done better by just beginning your Jamaica patrols with what you had. Yes it would've been small, but would've gotten the name familiar in Jamaica waters, people would've noticed, and perhaps a few more inclined to join as they see a clan that backs up words with action. Sure, your actions don't make a tangible difference at first...but in the beginning it's about building name-recognition and reputation. 3. That said...I also remember your earlier post and know you only established a few days ago (like, about a week, right?). And these guys already quit? Guess what...you didn't need them, with that level of commitment (i.e., none). Also universal across all clans/MMOs are the perennial clan-hoppers, who never seem to stay for long, and don't do a whole lot while they're there. 4. I sincerely wish you success with this. I personally don't involve myself in much activity around Jamaica. But I see value to the British nation in some persistent, organized home-waters counter-gank effort. Especially with the upcoming mechanics when such activity will have impact on Hostility levels in Surrey (our home capital region). 5. Like the avatar.

I still think the niche is there for a homeland defence clan, but the leader of witch needs to be seen along with his members doing the job in hand. I suggest you carry on but don't try and take a front seat unless your planning to be constantly at the wheel. Relax a bit enjoy the game don't try and force the pace.
Cmdr RideZ Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Maybe you and your clan mateys can be initiators. When you hear that pirates are at location X, you rally the groups and go there. A fleet of 5 is already big in OW PvP.
