Billy Budd Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 (edited) I have finally managed to visit every port on the whole map, including two ports on a group of islands that are not shown on the map. You will have to find them for yourself ...sorry!. There are two outposts on these islands, Kids Island (Pirates) & North Inlet (Neutral). although they are not shown on the map, they appear as you are approaching them and you can enter both ports, just like all other ports on the map. The smallest port on the whole map is Cayo Vacas, which is situated amongst the group of islands in the Florida Keys group. There is no watch tower or flag showing and all there are is a few small buildings and a jetty. You could quite easy miss this port if you are not sailing past it close enough to the shore line where the name will appear. The port shows on the map, but its hard to spot in the open world. This has been quite a challenge but it was something I wanted to achieve. I have eight outposts covering different areas of the map and by sailing from these outposts, I was able to cover each area of the map, without having to cross from one side to the other. For anyone attempting this, make sure you travel in a Traders Brig or smaller, because anything larger, wont get you into shallow water ports, or be able to cross shallow areas of sea. AND make sure you sail with the Smugglers Flag enabled, or you won't be able to enter any foreign ports. My next goal is to reach 100 million gold. I am already at 32 million and have every 1st, 2nd and 3rd rate ships in my fleet, plus a few other 4th and 5th rate vessels. All my money has been made through trading between ports and fishing. I have no buildings or do no crafting. Sugar, Tobacco and Fish have provided everything I have. I use Trader Brigs & Indiamans, for trading voyages, one of each based at all my outposts except Kingston Port Royal & Carlisle, where I keep my warship fleet. I play on the PVE server, so I can please myself how I play the game without worry from other players. Edited September 20, 2016 by Billy Budd 16
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Great news ! And indeed something that, in part, should be part of any new ( and not so new ) player self imposed missions to do. 1
Anolytic Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Maybe I'll visit all 378 ports (on the new map) one day, but probably not...
Siegfried Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I visited two or three times all ports in the map and every island without port too. But it was one year ago or more. I even made a map with all data I gathered. Since devs made a ingame map, exploring is less valuable. It was exciting to discover and charting the new world. 3

Sir Texas Sir Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Not to be a dick, but can you please remove the cords for the hidden islands so they stay hidden and not every one in there mother just knows. It was kinda a fun thing to just find them accidently when I was US. Hell even the pirates can't see them. You kinda take that fun out just telling every one where they are. I did hear at one time they might put some more in. Remember they mention earthquacks and new ports with this patch. Would be a good time to slip a few more hidden ports in under our nose.

qw569😳 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I have finally managed to visit every port on the whole map, including two ports on a group of islands that are not shown on the map. Billy Budd Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 You play on PVE server Try to earn 100 mln on PVP1 server. It is much more interesting Sorry I don't do multiplayer gaming, I am sticking with PVE because just challenging the AI suits me fine. Too many dick heads play on the PVP servers, spoiling the game for people like me, who just wants a quiet life and to play the game, the way I want to play it. 2
Liq Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 What does one do with 32 million on a pve server though?
Challenge Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I started as a second LT (just promoted) and took my new Trade Brig out for a long sail (9 days to port on the longest leg). I arived back at home port and was promoted to full Lt. No combat, just sailing. OP: Well done Captain.
Billy Budd Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 What does one do with 32 million on a pve server though? You can't do anything other than spend it on improving your ships by installing upgrades and just watching your bank balance getting bigger as you do more trading. It's just a matter of setting challenges in the game, to see just how much money you can make. I have only been playing this game for about a month and I am just 500 XP points away from my next rank of Post Captain, which has all been gained through sailing, plus a few battles, capturing AI contraband smugglers with a Rattlesnake. Best ship for speed. I have fought a few Mission Orders as well, just for a change from trading, once in a while. I just like the freedom of PVE, without having to worry about other players ganking you. It seems that real players in the PVE have the respect not to attack other real players that they come across on their travels. There are enough AI ships sailing around all over the map, if you fancy doing battle with. There are all sorts of ways of enjoying yourself in PVE, without getting involved with other players. It's just that I like to play solo rather than multiplayer. Each time I log on, especially during the weekends, there are at least 100 to 150 other players enjoying the PVE server, so I am not the only person who enjoys PVE. I am not against PVP, because the majority who play this game, do like to play with others and if you prefer that style of game play then I respect that. Most games have the option to play solo against the AI or play multiplayer against other players and that is for each and every individual to choose how they prefer to play the game. As I have said, I prefer PVE because I can choose to play the game however I want to play it, without interference from anyone else. One thing I do enjoy about this game is the beautiful scenery that this game has to offer. The very realistic ships from the humble Cutter right up to the magnificent 1st rates including the latest L'Ocean, which I just happened to see for sale at Port Royal which had been crafted by someone. It is a beautiful ship and just as equal in detail to the magnificent Victory or Santisima Trinidad. Spending almost 5 million of my 32 million for this ship, was just a splash in the ocean, when you can afford to buy it. The developers of this game have really given it their all in creating a beautiful world, with brilliant sea states and weather conditions, that it is hard to tell the difference from the real world. It is for this reason I get hours of pleasure, just sailing around the map, and sailing all kinds of vessels in this realistic environment. Yes the battle action is wonderful and the effects are brilliant, the best I have seen in any game, but for me, there is more to this game than just fighting battles. I like to do other things as well by setting myself various challenges. I have caught every fish in the game except an Eel so far, so I still have that challenge to do yet.
Sir Texas Sir Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) To be fair they are visible even on the map admin posted about the new regions. Yes and that gives you the general area. I have no problem with him saying there are islands out there, but giving folks the exact area to go to kinda is a spoiler. I'm pirate and my first time finding them was when I was bottle hunting not when I was actually looking for them. Some of us don't want to know the exact spot so we can find things. Again just asking the OP to remove the coordinates of the area of the island is al. Edited September 20, 2016 by Sir Texas SIr
Sir Texas Sir Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) Thanks for removing them. Maybe folks will find them like I did in the middle of a storm bottle hunting lol Edited September 20, 2016 by Sir Texas SIr
Billy Budd Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 (edited) Sorry for showing the map coordinates of these islands in my original post Sir Texas. I was just being helpful for those that didn't know they existed. I just thought that it was a map fault. It just so happened that I had set a course from Alabaster Rocks on a diagonal course to the Bahamas at the far edge of the map, and happened to cross their path. You can imagine my surprise when I saw these missing islands, in the distance, which were in mid ocean and not shown on the map. I wonder if there are any other smaller islands with ports, that are not shown on the the map. Maybe I need to do some more exploring. So far I have caught 18 bottles and only opened 6 of them, which has given me some nice booty. They are becoming less frequent since the last patch and you don't seem get any upgrades amongst the booty. Another goal to set myself is to reach 100 bottles before I open another one. Sir Texas Sir Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 There was rumor they had added one more but I haven't heard any one find it. With the new patch there are a few new spots. Like that everglade lake in florida with the new port will be interesting. I still need to go way up northwest to somerset Bermuda island. Will prob do it after the new patch. I'm still working on the GoM for hitting every port but that been slow since I"m busy doing things like PvP and port battles.

Good luck on your journey to Somerset on Bermuda, it's a six day journey from Alabaster Rocks and five days sailing east from the top of the American coastline. I gained 74 XP on the first crossing and 62 XP for the return. I have now reached the rank of Post Captain, with 650 XP towards my next rank. 20000 points will take a few weeks before I reach it.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I think I might be giving voice to many sailors and crews when I ask the following... Did you in your exploration voyages spot any Mermaids ?! 3
Bramborough Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I gained 74 XP on the first crossing and 62 XP for the return. That seems awfully low for trips to/from Bermuda. I guess travel XP must scale with rank...which would make sense. Have been same rank since travel XP was first introduced; never had opportunity to notice a difference.

Jean LaPointe Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Well done, Sir! I still need to do the same, plenty to do! 1
Billy Budd Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 (edited) I think I might be giving voice to many sailors and crews when I ask the following... Did you in your exploration voyages spot any Mermaids ?! Ha ha, I wish. lol. Maybe you have to discover where Neptune has his kingdom, before you spot any mermaids. I have never spotted any of those sea monsters either, that sailors in those days, believed existed. It would be nice to see a few Whales and shoals of Dolphins that do frequent certain areas of the map, maybe the devs will add these before the game is fully developed. I would also like to see a few permanent ship wrecks dotted around the maps coastlines, especially in areas where there are rocky outcrops just off the coastline. These should not be for exploring, but just to act as a reminder to stay well clear of shallow areas that have rocks breaking the surface. They would certainly add more realism, when shipwrecks were common during the time period the game is set in. One fish I have never caught yet is an Eel, these fetch good money, so are best kept whole, rather than convert into fish meat. But where are they? I have crossed the Sargassa Sea which lies out in the Atlantic in the North East area of the map. This is where the Eel breeding grounds are, but I have yet to catch one. Has anyone caught an Eel yet and if so, whereabouts on the map did you catch them? Edited September 21, 2016 by Billy Budd 1

I returned directly on a westerly heading, for Charleston on the American coast.
Werewolf Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 (edited) That's quite an accomplishment, Billy. Congratulations! Also, just a suggestion for another self challenge... get to lvl 50 crafting. It will have you sailing all over the place, collecting goods, storing goods... it also brings a deeper understanding of the game. Just an idea! Edited September 23, 2016 by Vonjager 2
