Stilgar Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Looks like ramming to take the opponent's bowsprit off is becoming a popular tactics to force all-important sail repair. This is quite obvious if one watches tournament replays. In OW it is admittedly less of an issue, but still. Anyway, I would suggest to make bowsprit repair possible using urgent repair and not sail repair.

So its a combination of selfawereness and the ability to controll oyur ship. in short, iam against your suggestion
Pagan Pete Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I say nay. If some bloke don't want his bow sprint knocked off, sail his ship better (Like me).Bow sprinting AND getting boarded are both Lern-to-play issues.
Guest Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I find it unrealistic to make bow-sprit repairs in general. The mats and expertise would exceed the possibilities in battle. The current state of the game allows unrealistic repairs through a rep kit and that's fine but bow-sprit repairs should continue to be considered a part of this req..
Rychu Karas Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I see another issue related to the bowsprit. ATM only smaller ships can lose his bowsprit through ramming. The bigger can ram without any risk. For example, in the case when Trinco rams surprise, Trinco can do it without any fear. but Surprise will lose his bowsprit in any even small touch his bow to the enemy. I am not demanding equal like santi vs cuter. but the room for risk should be wider for both sides. especially when the ramming ships are quite similar.
