Serdalis Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Hi, I recently applied copper plating and turning trim to my ship. I expected the copper plating to negate the turning trims speed decrease but instead it seems to have made it worse. The raw stats are as follows: Copper Plate ( +2.5% ) Turning Trim ( -2.125% ) Base Speed: 12.39 Expected Speed Bonus: +0.05Seen Speed Bonus: -0.50 I've attached a picture of the stats tooltip in game. Is this a bug or is there something I'm not understanding?
Rychu Karas Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 (edited) Do you have guns on you rhip? u know the guns influence on the speed value Edited September 10, 2016 by Rychu Karas 3
jodgi Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Do you have guns on you rhip? u know the guns influence on the speed value ^^It's gotta be that. Take off all guns if you want to see what the numbers for the mods are. 1
Serdalis Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 Oh wow you're right, when I take off all the guns I get +0.05, when I put them back on it's -0.50. I had no idea they influenced speed to that much of an extent (or even at all ). Thanks for the info!
elite92 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 optimized rudder????? i am without words....
Serdalis Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 optimized rudder????? i am without words.... It would be great if you could find some words then. The turning trim was a drop and I have no optimised rudders to work with. For those who like words, Max level turning trim provides 2.5% turning and -2.5% speed. Max level optimised rudder provides 7.5% turning and -15% rudder half turn time ( no down side ). So there is no reason to use turning trim over optimised rudder. 1

rippold Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 This combination might sail backwards, only? 1

If you're on PVP1 and able to make your way to La Mona or Plymouth I can get you set up. It pains me to read you can't get the stuff you'd like. Bring cash to pay for the silver and I'll be happy to oblige. I think the dood was being snarky. I agree with him in that you should never, like, never ever put something on a frigate that makes it go slower (I may live in sin slapping masts on some of mine. But, hey! Noone's perfect.) [edit] I'd make you a perfect trinco too if it wasn't for RNG-portclicking. It's very sad, but the best ships are all but reserved for an elite of portclickers and clanners. There is no shortage of golden stiffness, now is there?
Serdalis Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 Hi, I'm currently on PVP2 in KPR with a pirate blockaid.I really like this trinc and the guy who made it was nice enough to do it just for work hours!Since that post i've aquired an excellent optimised rudder since I started up a silver mine and used silver coins to pay for it! Thanks for the generous offer though!

(same with speed trim, both increase the roll angle) Edited September 12, 2016 by Ragor
