Strugelwits Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 So, as we all know, over the past 3 weeks the devs have conducted 3 special events that give you the opportunity of getting a deadman's chest and the chance of getting one of the new blueprints. However as we know there has been some dissent among the community regarding these events. My personal opinion is that these events are a fantastic idea and were conducted in a "satisfactory" manner (others may disagree). not writing a hate post or anything, but is there any hints that the devs could give that might point a change in the events, or even the dissolution of these events. Thanks:strugs
Sir Texas Sir Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Been to all three and I won't be returning for this forth one. Just not worth the wasted time setting up for the crappy reward. That is even if your lucky to get any chest.
Skully Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Me chuckles again. So funny this is. Human nature. People want loot for the least effort. Attacking somebody might give you some loot. Sailing to the wreck might give you some loot. With sailing being the lesser effort. After reaching the wreck and finding it empty it only reinforces the notion that other folks will be sailing around empty as well. Ergo, just return home empty handed. You can do PvP any time on your own terms. But what if you where to change this by marking ships sailing with a chest? (where is my evil grin emoji? ) Instead of trying to balance it, we should really play it out over our sins. So why do we see worlds collide? Because we want to live in a world of conflict, a world of war, a world of the harsh 18th century. And that brings out the worst in us, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. (Given the chance we would add lust as well. ) Which is in direct opposition to the values we should hold true, justice, equality, conformity, symmetry and fairness.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aequitas And secretly we love this. We don't want to be judged by Mrs J or our loved ones. For they will call shame upon us.Instead we chuckle and quickly set sail again. Do we want to play a game of conflict and strive or a game of care-bear porn? Tickle the Pigs, for there is treasure to hoard. Mark the Toads with flags once they are grabbed their loot, so the Snakes can easily catch them. Bring along Lions for those who might get away and then finally the Peacocks can show off their rewards. Meanwhile denounce the Snails for not participating and sitting on the side. The Goats won't be there anyway, because there is nothing to fornicate. Then as chests get destroyed toss them back into the wreck, plus let the chests appear over time. It makes no difference to the beholder. But those who plan and have patience might then get two marshmallows instead of one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gratification And we might see stories of heroes emerge.
The Spud Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I still think they should make the BP's drop from crafting like all the others. Don't care for paint shemes, gold upgrades, LH contracts, the whole lot. If 1 or 2 BP's drop in every event, you can add another 50 ships this way and you'll hardly see any of them sailing around, and its a damn shame becaus these ships are just waaaay to nicely designed to be owned by just a couple of guys.
