Solution for After Battle Screen

63 members have voted

  1. 1. Ship position on battle map is preserved on the open world map and all ships kicked onto open world 5mins after last enemy is sunk/surrendered.

    • Yes I would like this
    • No leave it like it is

Dropping players to the OW after 5 mins

I am sure it will down-voted, and suspect the forum is just giving the wrong impression of the severity of the problem.

there will still be the possibility to log off in the battle screen if this timer of 5 min go on? (obviusly if the answer is yes, one should be forced in the sea after the succesive log-in)

So what is the solution for the case when I know that I am surrounded by fir failfited gankers. How can I avoid dura loss?

Or in the case when I have no more time for the game after 30min-1h frght or running away. What I need to do to avoid dura loss?

this and new ROE become more and more progarnking solutions...

Whenever this comes up the 1st thought everyone has is gankers and trying to counter the waiting in battle screen to sink the gankers who just sunk your buddies. I know I have been there and have been on both sides of the spectrum having to log out because of superior forces outside and camping a group of gankers hoping they come out of the Battlescreen.

But what we fail to realize is that this would also have drastic effects on the RvR portion of the playerbase to an extent that you could lose entire 1st rate fleets if they are kicked from the Battle screen after 5 minutes. For example you attack a port and fail to capture it and during the port battle you lose 7 1st rates. So now your 25 man 1st rate fleet is down to 18 man 1st rate fleet and the enemy has 30+ 1st rates waiting for you outside the port that you can't enter and have no way to escape. It hurts to lose 7 1st rates in a battle but now it comes to a point where you are no longer given the choice and could lose your entire fleet which would be disastrous for a nation especially when in the next patch, 1st rates and exception ships are going to be harder to build. This would make attacking a regional capital potential suicide for a full fleet given the current Port Battle mechanic which favors the defenders and would reduce the people that are committed to participating in RvR.

As I said, I hate the waiting in battlescreen as much as the next person when it comes to gankers, but looking at the bigger picture. I much rather would lose a dura on a Bellona or Bucentuare to a gank fleet rather than risk losing entire fleets of 1st rates when attacking a regional capital.

It means players like us will find a new game. What's the point in playing if every time you act like a pirate or privateer you are forcrd to lose a ship?

And i dont want to hear about " playing in enemy waters" because of teleporting ALL waters are enemy waters.

Yup. Many many true pvp players have said you cant get rid of BS logging without destroying the pvp community exept gankers.

I do think that random short range (over the horizon) teleport for exciting players may be a better solution.  The issue there is that a team of players might get dispersed.  The solution to dispersion is that the location of the re-entry to the OW could be set to where the first member of a team has been sent.

Ive suggestions that many times. If people can teleport TO my battles i should be able to teleport FROM the battle. Even if its 1 minute travel in any direction that would solve the BR screen for me but having an awseome 1 hour 1v1 battle and then being forced to either give up my ship because the entire server teleports to come get me or to spend 4 hours being taged and retaged by a fleet that cant catch me but keeps harrassing me hoping i finally just give up.

Botb of those situations are unacceptable to me and are game breaking.

I would like to see a 2min battle screen timer and the ext position based on open world distance for time spent in battle. In other words if you spend 30minutes in battle you appear at the open world distance that equals 30 minutes not the in battle distance sailed

Ive suggested this too. Its the only option i find fair other than leaving it the way it is.

I know port hugging gankers hate the current system but for all those of us with jobs, families, bodily functions, dates or a hundred other things the current system is pretty good. Im currently recovering from major surgery so ive got nothing to do so spending 90 minutes in a battle followee by 4 more hours of running from revenge squads is ok but for most playere including the ever love casual they just dont have 6 hours to complete one battle and return to port session. Punishing them by losing a ship each battle like some want will drive away most players who do anything other than port battles and pve.

Blinks, shakes head, blinks again. I can only guess that first sentence is referring to being able to stay in the BS screen after a battle.

And then the last sentence is talking about being dragged back to the original battle entry point.

But I'm only guessing between the lines.

So you have to be able to log off safely. Dumping your ship in to ow/gang fleet doesn't help invite players back.

If a player does log off, and what's the big deal.... If they are gone, they can't impact anything. Plus with the timers, you wait 6 minutes and you know he's logged off. If the log right back in, say 7 minutes later and start attacking again.. I they would say you need to do a better job of protecting your home waters. If the jucy trader bait can't be easy attacked then they will leave.

You are overlooking the fact that these players so worried about this are all just sitting in porr all day waiting for a call for help then they go and wait for the battle to end to gank.

Once agsin, all this coule be resolved if they simply sat outside ther capitals so they could go help rather than inside where they can only gank.

After battle screen should be quitted after 2:30 min, these pirate ganking and than hiding in battle screen is game killing . These buggers cried so long that social got deactivated and than after they attacked 7 to 1 they log off. Who ever made this design decision for the actual situation should be flogged every day! Enable social skill or set an 2:30 min timer for battle screen but the actual situation is b... s...!

The problem lies not in the end-screen but in the absence of helping friends as reinforcements in battles. It is THE biggest issue in NA. Pirates are strong in the forums, however, and hence short or no timers for reinforcements will prevail unfortunately. If reinforcements where a possibility no need for waiting for a battle to finish would make sence.

As player you have an immersion of sailing around in a home territory chatting and trading with others. The grid of nearby harbours is maybe within 3-20 min of sailing. When you get attacked you call for help at nation chat. Then players like to aid. Its one of the biggest social connection of the game. Short joining timers killed this. And player base dropped. Its not that fun anymore. Devs should really take this into consideration.

If some escapes from me in combat then they have ESCAPED!

They should be able to sit in the battle screen for as long as they want. Then when they emerge they should be unable to fight or be attacked for the same amount of time that they sat in battle screen. ( max time penalty 10 mins).

This will allow a fleeing ship to leave (make a cup of tea, go to toilet etc) and mass ganking fleets will unable to emerge from the battle screen and abuse the game mechanics by camping and ambush.

Teleporting or randomising exit won't work because a massive fleet may end up on top of you when you have not even been involved! Lol.

But....

Why should huge gank fleets be able to absue/ruin the game by camping or revenging?

Why should ships who escape from battle not be allowed to actually escape??? If you cannot catch them in battle, that's it, they have escaped.

Rules for ADULT PLAY.

I never retag a ship that evades me.

I never revenge a ship that betters me in combat.

I will fight and take on other ships when out numbered and caught without bitching about it.

I will always join a fight to help my fellow nationals even port huggers and people who make errors like new players who tag and pull me into a huge battle that I will sink in.

Sometimes I will sink because I make a mistake. The developers can not solve this.

I will suck it up when it does not go my way, because I am not a buttercup.
