Edward Vernon Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Please don't get too excited by this title.... I KNOW NOTHING.... However I did think, given that we are told Pre-Order Early Access will be coming soon, that the best date would of course be 21 October.......I just wonder if??????
SeaWolf_ Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I am pretty sure its pre-orders get invited to testing(still awesome )
Leviathan Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 All pre-orders will get access to the testing build when the next patch is released. As the admin has said it's 3-4 weeks until that happens. As far as the actual Early Access, they are still stating late 2014.
Edward Vernon Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Hey...I'll take whatever comes to me having pre-ordered.....and 3-4 weeks? How about 21 October .....
BungeeLemming Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Early access as soon as it opens: ETA end of 2014 taken off the "pre-order" page. However devs said there may be invites coming earlier to be precise: we will invite pre-order buyers to limited content testing after the next patch. Current estimate ETA 3-4 weeks.
Mirones Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 why 21st october? 1797 – In Boston Harbor, the 44-gun United States Navy frigate USS Constitution is launched. 1805 – Napoleonic Wars: Battle of Trafalgar: A British fleet led by Vice Admiral Lord Nelson defeats a combined French and Spanish fleet off the coast of Spain under Admiral Villeneuve. It signals almost the end of French maritime power and leaves Britain's navy unchallenged until the 20th century. from wikipedia
Edward Vernon Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 why 21st october? The clue is in my signature..... I CAN'T believe you haven't read it **SNIFF*
admin Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 nice date.. but hard to achieve.. maybe for sea trials, but again we don't promise it. We want to bring open world to the EA and some other nice features, and they are still not ready for testing. Sea trials will have boarding and mortars and 2 more ships (Brig and snow). 1

So i have to wait one month,no?
Mirones Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 So i have to wait one month,no? maybe, maybe not, we will see dont worry you will be informed so you wont miss it
Edward Harvey Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I feel ashamed for not recognizing the date :3
Edward Vernon Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 I did originally post this more in hope than expectation. It is hard to wait, but I SHALL be patient......all the best things in life are worth waiting for...
Mirones Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 oh dont worry i had the same pain waiting for acces oh the sleepless nights unable to find rest
Leviathan Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 It's a good sign when the testers are excited. I can't wait for the wave of pre-orders to join the fun.
Bixol Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I preordered the game but i think i will wait until "open beta" stage of testing, if not even complete release I don't want to start play and be disappointed from bugs or glitches and stuff... ... Even tough... Maybe i'll be so excited that i will play earlier versions anyway haha
Clinch Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 With the amount of testing everyone has done and the outstanding hard work of the admin, you will be hard pressed to find bugs. 1
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I preordered the game but i think i will wait until "open beta" stage of testing, if not even complete release I don't want to start play and be disappointed from bugs or glitches and stuff... ... Even tough... Maybe i'll be so excited that i will play earlier versions anyway haha It's all about your attitude. You can't approach it from a "if I lose because something glitches I'm going to be SO MAD" approach, but rather from the joy of seeing the product before it's completely polished and finished, and being able to participate in the process of making it that much better. Your progress will (usually) be wiped before release anyways, so it's a great time to play around with strategies and ships that you may not even be considering at release and to lose badly without any long-term repercussions. In short, keep it light and productive and have fun while helping the devs make a better game. 1
Captain_Wick Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Bring on the bugs, glitches or what have you. I am just excited to play any version of this awesome looking game.
Hanser von Richthofen Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 It looks like the game will be different to PotBS but i like the Grafics and my friends told me that the game is awesome so i will wait excited to start to play this game
Mirones Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 potbs goes more into arcade like AC4 with 20knots+ frigates with more guns than gunports and you ahve to pay real money for copy paste ships wich are just like the old ones with some numbers switched nothing really to campare.
Leviathan Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Pretty much what Mirones said. Nothing to compare between the two really except that they are both age of sail games. The combat, graphics, and overall gameplay are very different. Everything is based on skill and strategy (as it should be) instead of buffs, magic, and winning builds. 1
Babbington Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 The poor devs must be killing themselves to make that 21st deadline. Of course I hope they do, but all will depend on the winds and tides.
