Jeheil Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Dear Dev's, here is a cunning plan so cunning you can pin a tail on it.... Do it like a server transfer...but transfer us to our own server and give us all our stuff as redemables...this would be a great idea for long term "seasonal resets" too btw. This protects players AFK for a few weeks and makes it clean each time. Just Server Transfer us to ourselves and all is lubbly. I happily accept new ship BP's as commission for this idea. ++++ You already have the code !!!! Also gives folks a chance to make any nation switches on a Port Reset as redemables are the magic answer. Edited August 27, 2016 by Jeheil 12
Jeheil Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 That's the best idea I have heard coming from a British officer. :D Thanks (I think) 1
Anolytic Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) I would just like to point out that it's not a new idea. Devs have probably considered this and dismissed it. About reset: My guess is that when they reset the map to implement the new conquest mechanics and diplomacy, we will loose all our outposts, while all the stuff and ships we had in all our outposts will be given to us as redeemables, quite like how it is when they merge servers. If they introduce total victories and map resets I believe each map reset will be done the same way. EDIT: Also, wouldn't this topic belong in the Suggestions forum? Jeheil Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 OK we wanna play whose Idea was it anyway...I suggested it in a video after the first server merge...but no....we shall assume Ano that great minds think alike (or fools seldom differ your call) And why do you think the Dev's have rejected it...have they posted such.
Anolytic Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I think the devs had the idea first, since that was the way they did the first server merge. And why do you think the Dev's have rejected it...have they posted such. I just think it's something they would've had to have considered. It's a pretty obvious solution, but keeping track of all the redeemables, or moving all the information off the server and then back onto it again might not be as easy as it sounds.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Engage contraband flag. Enter port in which you had an outpost and it's now in another nation's hands. ??? Profit.
Skully Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 On the upcoming Port Reset, you won't lose anything. You should be able to use fleet to get everything out of an enemy port should the need arise. (Although taking out a fleet warship might be changed in the future). Be wary of potential bugs though: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/16053-transferred-flag-pavel-lost/ I'm not aware of the details of the PvP3 merge, but it looked to me like it wasn't that easy. And folks seem to lost some bits leading to support questions. But rather it might be better for one of the devs to make such an assessment. On the other hand, it took me a full day to empty out a port. Can't simply TP anymore... As for Season End: You will not lose anything if you lose your Capital. Everybody will lose everything if one Nation / Alliance wins the season... (Hehe, so what should we prevent at all cost?) The winning Alliance / Nation has won for a reason, which is most likely a zerg. Reinstating the zerg would be bad. So would handing out strategic assets be (to either winner or loser). Handing out some low-level perishables or cosmetics sounds more appropriate to me. A redeemable Yacht. A paint job. A special flag. The true problem I see is how are we going to test Exterminatus?
