Mayhem Like Me Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) This is an actual live footage of a real battle that demonstrates that crew loss in the game is exaggerated! thomas aagaard Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 how about actually studying historical written sources about naval combat... and not some fantasy movie... 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Regarding film media the 1st season of Black Sails has, in the opinion of many of the specialists, the best representations of naval age of sail combat. ( follow ups are good but not as good ) Not as "shiny" as all others but at least they tried to make it look like it would be - clautrophobic and unexpected incoming on decks - the camera work on the raking really shows that perfectly, no one below the rails has any idea it is coming.
Jonnydread Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Check it out for yourself - https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=cannon+fire+scene+pirates+of+the+caribbean#id=1&vid=1c69d2820e947f953e0ffdb0c61d54da&action=click Yeah, as everyone knows are Disney movies authentic and historical accurate.
Illusive Tabby Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 "Actual live footage"...."real battle"... OP,....are you sure you know the difference between a MOVIE....and real life? 2
The MetaBaron Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I laughted a lot when I saw the youtube videos of Pirates of the caribbean... However its true that sometimes the crew loss is a bit high specially when fighting AI. In Trafalgar the Bucenteure was taken out of the fight from one rake by the Victory as I remember correctly or something to that affect.
Jean Pual Vilvenue Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Pretty sure the movie is just that, a movie... lol
Sgt.Barnes Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) im no historian, or whatever but im pretty sure that a handful of well placed shots could devestate, especially at close range. Oh, and they probably didnt have 600+ actors on hand to die onscreen Edited August 22, 2016 by Sgt.Barnes
