Considering it takes a while to sail to these places from other spots on the map is this related to the event, a simple yes or no is ok without spoiling it...Cause for some that is 3-4 hours trip

It is related, it was confirmed in Global Chat. Don't know how though.

I just pulled a port out of there and some of us have never even been in the GOM.  Our notes have said West Indies and that isn't the West Indies.

Uhm this hole area, is the West Indies....

Well this is not very fair on a lot of players on the other side of the map...maybe free tps if u got the letter...

"captains should try avoid the area"

(I'm sailing there as well :D)

I'm not sure you know the definition of fair. Comments like this are off topic. Please keep responses related directly to the event - what is, is not, or may be happening in this area.

well, that's the good part of having outposts all around the carribeans, my only problem is that i don't have enough frigates to send one in every outpost just in case...

just now:

JS: Sho Kosugi> Are the Pray button and Storms connected?

Sho Kosugi: i have read people prayed in storms

Sho Kosugi: in Victor Hugo for example

If pray is related to Storms, will these Storms in these spots be the only ones pray works with? I did use pray during a Storm and found it did nothing. I making my way to the location ill be spamming pray to find out if it does do anything.
