This is a really odd thing to aim for in my opinion, why would you want individual votes to govern a nation ...

Because I am a United States citizen, why do you think?  Representation is the concept.  It works and works well, by the way, when implemented correctly.

If you want some sort of oligarchy then why don't you just come plain out and say so?  You clearly want the biggest clan who will never represent everyone in the game to call all the shots, undoubtedly the clan that you just coincidentally would happen to be part of, I'm sure.  Screw the rest is the flavor of that approach.  That's what this whole discussion is all about.  Without getting into politics, this is a game and you want to appease ALL players in order to promote the game, not just please you and your circle of friends.  Representation takes a huge step towards doing exactly that, and making everyone's worth felt.

I'm not sure what your nationality has to do with this discussion...

There is not need to become upset - As I stated in a previous post - I am not suggesting we just award players or clans ownership of a nation, I would love to see clans fighting for control of a nation internally. It stands to reason that whichever clan has the largest number of members willing to vote in the way they are instructed will have control over a nation - I want to see competition for that role, not for it to remain static at the top, fight for the top position and use your influence to make sensible decisions for the nation. It will mean decisions are made by the strongest and most successful group of players - challenge their authority by getting enough people together to nullify their influence.

It could actually be that it isn't even a clan that takes control of a nation - it's just a collective of people voting in whichever way they all agree is right. I'm not suggesting clans get all the power.

Also - I'm not in a clan :P - as I mentioned in a previous post.

Who said I was upset?  I'm not upset.  I'm not even irritated.  I love the game and want to see the numbers grow like everyone else.  I see representation as the most appropriate method of gaining an advantage for all players is all.  Nationality has to do with familiarity, my friend.

In my post above, I use the word "you", but probably should not have.  The comment sounds directed right at you, but really I am directing it to those who might want a single club ruling.  I don't really disagree with you though that dynamic interaction within a faction would add some flavor to the game.  I just don't want it to be one club rules over all (and that's that).
