pugtm Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 After todays mini patch my framerate has dropped from 30ish on ultra settings to 25ish on the lowest. I have an NVIDIA gtx 870 with 3gb of ddr5 ram. Has anyone else experienced this drop and is there a fix?
William Livingston Alden Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 gtx980 - same issue here a massive drop down in the Frame Count
pugtm Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 is it bad enough to be unplayable for you as well?
Cpt Blackthorne Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I play on lowest setting receiving only 8 fps....still playable for me
delaine Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 mine in battle went from around 20ish with an amd r5/r7 m360 to about 8-10 was wondering why tbh
Foghorne Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I am having serious performance issues as well. The game had great stability for me until this patch. My compliments to the devs for such stable code and I am sure this will get fixed.
avasyliev Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Please could you report such issues using game bug reporter (F11, or using manual crash reporting described here - http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/2892-technical-problems-reporting-guide-known-issues-and-their-solutions ), by analyzing logs we will try to determine reason. One of the possible reasons could be wrongly selected GPU for NavalAction application (integrated adapter instead of actual dedicated GPU)
Sir Texas Sir Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) I play on lowest setting receiving only 8 fps....still playable for me Man are you on a potatoe? I would go mad if I had to play it on low and get only that FPS. Feel sorry for you man. I'm running GTX 980 through a alienware graphic amplifier (980M on board the laptop) and I still getting about 60 FPS average and it kinda bounces from 58-62 and that is on ULTRA/HIGH settings. While it wasn't my game but something else was acting up (teamspeak) and I had to reboot the whole laptop this morning when I got up. Something was causing my TS to be real choppy like a bad connection. Once I rebooted it was back to normal. Edited July 30, 2016 by Sir Texas SIr
Balsafer Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I'm running a Nvidia GeForce GT 630 I get 8-10 fps on OS and 10-14 in battle running on mediumish settings
Vernon Merrill Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Hmmmm... I'm running a GeForce 550ti and I can get 25 FPS in the OW.. the only time I bog down is the beginning of PB's, but it will catch up in about 15 seconds..
z4ys Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Maybe its an issue with the new moving sail display. An option to turn that feature off in OW and battle (separate) like setting fix fps would be nice.
pugtm Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 (edited) So out of curiosity, client.exe needs to be running on the graphics card and that is the only process correct? Edited August 2, 2016 by pugtm
Sire Trinkof Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Turn AA off guys, and you can max anything else, and have a solid 60 fps with a 970. AA is really the Fps killer of naval action. I drop around 25-28 fps with AA maxed, more than 60 anytime without it
Ink Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 any progress?Captain, could you please try to disable Intel HD Graphics 4600 (your integrated video) to check if it helps you?
pugtm Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 How is it possible to disable the integrated card. I have auto switching and instructed my computer to specifically use my discrete card for the game. I'm not sure it can be fully disabled
Ink Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Press Win+R, type mmc devmgmt.msc, then expand "Display Adapters", right click on integrated video, choose "disable". Before doing this make sure that a vga/hmdi cable is plugged into your external card. If that does not help, enable it again the same way In case you have a laptop, please check those links to re-check your settings ( do not disable integrated video in that case): and http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19586281
pugtm Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 so as i mentioned earlier I already did all this. My switching has client.exe set to the non integrated card. there is still a slowdown
Foghorne Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 3 lockups last night. It does not happen all the time. 3 or 4 crashes the first day of the patch. Next day no problems. Last night 3 crashes. Performance seemed to get better as population got lower but that might just be a coincidence. Also, TeamSpeak gets very crackly before the crash. TS is my warning that bad things are about to happen.
pugtm Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 i seem to have solved it by forcing the Client_.exe to also be set to high power graphics. not sure why that helped 1
