mikawa Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I remember the replay feature in Warcraft III. You had the chance to watch a recent game you played against any opponent from any perspective you want: So I could learn about my faults and I really loved to watch my own all-time-favourite battles. This would be a great feature to add. Is something planned like that? 2
Longshot Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 There is an options to record and replay your battles in many online multiplayer games. Hard to understand and accept why Naval Action is still without such basic features
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Games with replay functions are arena based. This is the thing I want the most for movie making.
mikawa Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 Games with replay functions are arena based But isn't a battle instance also a kind of arena?
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Yes obviously but I think you get what I meant - NA is unlike arma3, il2 sturmovik, etc which are setup as one instance from start to end. I personally support every effort made by the devs to make this possible, mind you.
Skully Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I did a quick scan through the client logs. It does show what and when a ship fires, but it does not show where. If that is in, plus a periodic position update, then at least I could use an external viewer.
Cecil Selous Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) I also think that a replay would be great for learning purposes or video making. But what about something like this after every battle? This would be a simple overview of every maneuver and action during a battle. Maybe show the plotted course only when you click on a ship to make it a bit clearer in large battles. This could work like a replay with rewind, play, hiding ships, which doesn't interest you etc. Every broadside can be shown with clickable statistics. Edited July 22, 2016 by Cecil Selous 3
