Celtiberofrog Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Dear gentlmen, Haiti, for the last few weeks, is a very disputed territory between the 2 coalitions, we all know that the involved beligerent players are mostly from Europeans time zones. South Haiti ports where taken several times by French, British, Danes & Dutch for the last few days. Twice after taking those ports Brits & Dutch are setting 04-06h server timers...While French & Danes were setting evening timers. These early morning timers are tactical, they do not improve game & war dynamic at all, they tend to discourage enemies by forcing them to attend the game at non practicable hours. So please British & Dutch, do your best not to discourage your enemies by using timers but by fighting and getting victories with honour & glory. It is understood that this server is for all players from the world, territories held by USA are not matching Europeans players territories but it is justified, same as territories held or under responsabilities of time zone players as Australians or Asians. But if in a same territory zone, such as Haiti, timers are mixed then it is not possible to keep war dynamic in that area. I'm sure you agree with that and you want the game to produce epical battles with anthousiastic players. So please no more mixed tactical timers in war zones. Thank you for your fighting spirit. Cheers Frog 5
Tenakha Kan Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) We do not want things to become a port timer war, the french have set the timer for Sale Trou to 04-06 as an exemple of what might happen if the British players kept setting those timers. Unfortunatly the Dutch did the same for Jacmel. The french do not support these tactics and won't set any more 04-06 timers for the time being. We have made our point. The situation is being discussed off the forum with the Dutch and hopefully with the British. A council meeting with the four nation might be a good thing but it won't be on the forum. Please don't turn this into yet another flame war. Edited July 18, 2016 by Tenakha Kan 4
Patryn Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) If we set all our times to EU prime time what will our US, Canadian and Australian players do ? completely unrealistic we exclude a portion of our player base. Edited July 18, 2016 by Patryn 3
Ledinis Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Unless there is a huge delay, port flags and timers will be a thing of the past way before you can find any common grounds on this subject. 2
Thonar Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Every war the same issue... the alliance of evil complains about port-timers. 1
Batman Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 You keep complaining about port imers set by british players. If it's just about port battles - Why don't you simply go fight someone with more comfortable port timers if the british timers keep getting you upset?
Young Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 its always been a silly port timer war as for as i can see just wait for the new port battle mechanics to come into play until then wake up earlier or stay up late like the rest of us have been doing since PB were introduced
Sire Trinkof Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Every war the same issue... the alliance of evil complains about port-timers. I always thought great britain was THE evil .... (joking of course)
Æthlstan Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 I fail to see the enjoyment US players get out of a port battle timer past our bed time. That timer pretty much only suits the australians.
praefect Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) The Dutch Nation has one single Port at a 04-06 timer, that is correct. This is intended as playground for our American players to have chance for port battles. The amount of our american players is fluctuating but they have at least the possibility and the motivation to participate in port battles. Given that it will be our only port with american timer for now until further information. If the port is not defended at multiple times we will re-discuss this topic to better the situation for all involved parties. Furthermore I would like to state that using public allegations of bad sportsmanship of the dutch nation leaves us disappointed about the spanish diplomatic efforts. We would have expected a personal contact to discuss such diplomatic/server health issues and that actually both parties would take care to build and maintain a trustful and fair relationship between the dutch and spanish nation in terms of diplomacy and competitions. best regards Edited July 18, 2016 by praefect 2

Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 If people have set timers at times when there will be no one available to defend the port, set an alarm and go take it. Should be extremely simple to do. There are no rules requiring port timers be set at a particular time based on any criteria. We've hashed this one out over and over, let's stop wasting time on something that is currently on the table for redesign. Thank you. 4
