Skully Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 With new upcoming port battle mechanics and the diplo patch further on, one of the basic political mechanics we should really have is bribery lobbying. This one also serves as a replacement for buying a flag. When you are in an enemy port you have the option to post a bribe to the Lord Protector (now) or individual Council Members (after diplo patch). If accepted, then the hostility rises to 100% (Lord Protector) or proportional in case of a Council Member accepting. At that point the new port battle hostility rules (could) kick in. The only one problem I see is the removal of a money sink. Maybe we need to reduce the payout to 50%, so the other 50% is used to "control town unrest/morale". In a later stage we could add such mechanics and say that for example "Food Supplies" must be dropped to control unrest. Or whatever gamey thing we can come up with. The potential disadvantages of posting a bribe are obvious: The bribed control the moment hostilities rises. It is not a controlled hand-over, so other nation members might "object". http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/14676-pvp1-june-the-british-honduras-campaign-pirate-perspective/?p=273731 Does anybody see a potential exploit/problem? 1
