Sven Silberbart Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 (edited) Hello. At the moment the are three types of ports: 1) Regional Capital (Max Ship: 1st Rate) 2) Deep Water (Max Ship: 4th Rate) 3) Shallow Water (Max Ship: 6th Rate) The constraint of the Ship types, i think, is to prevent every Port battle is just a 1st Rate battle. And that is good to make vaious ships needed for PBs. But i cant understand why that was the way to do this. Why there are not slots for the ship types in port battles to make the the battle with more diffenrent ships? Example od the idea: 2 of 25 are slots for max, 1st rate 3 of 25 are slots for max. 3rd rate 10 of 25 are slots for max 4th rate 10 of 25 are slots for max. 5th rate I think that would make the battles much more interesting and much ship types are needed. What do you think about that? Edited July 13, 2016 by Sven Silberbart
SteelSandwich Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I'd persoanlly rather see a system similiar to the current nation check (are you of the nation holding the port? If yes = acess if no = no access. But then based on the draft of the respective ships. Allowing for divercity regarding the heaviest ship that can enter the port and therefore the port battle. As seen in my suggestion some time ago: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/12020-redefining-deepshallow Current division is very artificial in my eyes and with this simple addaptation you can give each ship some of its historical atributes.
Bach Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 You don't want to put in a system where players may end up competing with each other other for port battle slots. It just results in arguments eventually as some players just can't handle losing a lottery after putting in much effort to get the PB.
