Hugh Latham Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I propose that crafting notes be downward compatible e.g. gold notes can be used for all purposes; silver for midgrade and lowgrade. 1
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I like the separation of "specialty". Copper plans ( think of them being naval architect drawings ) used for building a schooner cannot be replaced with gold plans for building a ship of the line. Regarding upgrades, they could be broken further down for Light, Medium and Large ships and use the notes accordingly.
Hugh Latham Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 Blue prints are plans. I'm not actually sure what the heck notes are. Extra notations for details? In that case why do they vanish in the process of building the ship? Notes really are just a way to slow down the process of ship building because they use so many labor hours.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Yes, I agree with you there but unless they are "created" with specifics for a model we can use them in any ship / equipment. If they get fixed to a single model "plans plus detailed notes" it could become worse and over complicate things ? The system is not that bad, it is simple and not easy going.
Khendon Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 i passionately hate mid-grade notes. i'm looking at a week at least if i want to craft upgrades for a 2/4 ship even. i would rather the crafting be more like eve in that i command ship to be built, resources are consumed and a clock starts which prints out my ship at the prescribed time. 2 weeks for a SOL? done. and notes??? WHYYYYYYYYYY!!! it takes like 30 freaking notes to make a ship decent. 'ho'mah'GERD!
Æthlstan Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 You dont have to sail upgraded ships. I usually dont. All the upgrades I do use I got from loot or lucky finds in the store.
