victor Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) One little suggestion: I'm not telling you to bring back the "twice a hour" loot rate of the first days, but now it has become somehow hard looting one bottle even in several hours of navigation. Since the idea of looting sealed bottles during fisihing (with the good loot of the wrecks) has been one of the few mechanics that actually increased the presence of players in the OW (and - moreover - it has been the ONLY game mechanic that was actually able to take out in long OW trips also PVE lovers and crafters), can you please enhance the drop rate? Capitan Camuñas Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 after 1 week i didn't get one bottle yet and i play a LOT and sail like 15000 NM their random system is not working correctly

Guest Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 after 1 week i didn't get one bottle yet and i play a LOT and sail like 15000 NM their random system is not working correctly You should sail into danger zones and not too far away from land. The chance of finding a bottle is larger then.

The chance of finding a bottle is larger then. i travel trough zones like key west, cayman brac and the souroundings of jamaica if this are not danger waters i must try to sail into a volcano my clan mates travelling with me get several bottles it's not a matter of luck is that their random system is not working on me i can't refill my crew for free every day too , so another fail...

Jean Ribault Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Current low drop rate is good IMO. But on the other hand, if it's too low then disappointed players like those above will never venture out to just go sail for the heck of it just looking for bottles and fish. I am a proponent of keeping this low rate as-is, but wouldn't complain if it were higher. The only consideration is you probably need to lower the loot benefit as you raise the bottle count in order to even it out, otherwise we have a glut of bottle proceeds. The good news is that by the complaints above it appears that the bottle idea alone has gotten people out there sailing more.
Enraged Ewok Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Personally, I think the drop rate is good where it is now. I've been getting a bottle about every other day, and I think that's fine. 1
Guest Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Finding bottles should still have a Wow! and Surprise! Surprise! effect. Finding bottles too easy or too often makes it boring.
Anne Wildcat Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Maybe add an increase in percent chance after not finding any bottles after X hours? 1

victor Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) Maybe add an increase in percent chance after not finding any bottles after X hours? A drop rate algorithm keeping in accout as a factor also the time of the last dropped bottle would be actually an insteresting option. Edited July 7, 2016 by victor 1
Yar Matey Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) I am ok with bottles as they are right now, except the chance of getting a labor contract is way too high and the amount of hours given is way too high. Getting 2 labor contracts from a shipwreck is crazy, that's 24 real life hours. I really think that the max you can get is 1 labor contract per shipwreck, and it should be a 50/50 chance of getting one. Also, I think the amount of hours you get from them needs to be drastically nerfed to 100 labor hours per contract. 500 is insane. I crafted 2 exceptional Ingermanlands and 1 exceptional victory in 2 days of playing all made possible by labor contracts. The only parts that were not crafted were the mid and high grade notes, which I usually buy from other players for 100,000-120,000 gold per contract. The labor contracts are ridiculously overpowered if you ask me and make ship building way too fast. If they are not nerfed soon, its going to be Santi fest 2016 this summer. Guest Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 except the chance of getting a labor contract is way too high I'm okay with how it is now. 50% of the bottles I found brought no labor contracts. As I found out it depends on the ship wreck's size. For me Bellona gave lh contrat while Surprise wreck didn't.
Chijohnaok Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 i have not received a single bottle since the the drop rate was lowered and neither have the few i fleet with soo i don't know. maybe a higher drop rate with more random loot and not all top rate is the answer I have not received an excessive number of bottles (I think less than a half dozen). Yesterday, while returning from a rather long journey to explore a wreck, I managed to find 2 sealed bottles on the return journey. I had never found two bottles like that.
Vaz Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 i can say i have spent roughly 13-14 real life hours fishing in the Atlantic in the area from road town to sommerset, with no bottle drop. fished for roughly 8 hours in the Caribbean south / south west of Christianssted, and got 1 bottle. These bottles are hard to come by...

The Spud Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I got three bottles since the drop rate fix, two on the first day and now I had one yesterday. The drop rate is low enough for me to not focus on it, but however I try to sail as much as possible in the other stuff I do. Instead of being lazy and buying stuff at KPR I sail out anyway to buy it cheaper ot whatever. Do some AFK fishing while having to do some other stuff. The balance is just right. I rather have less drop rate but with higher loot as compared to higher rate with lower loot. Would be cool if 1 out of a thousand bottles has a treasure map instead of a wreck, and you can get some gold (currency) and a redeemable ship or something. The loot would need to be so much you need to choose what you take and don't take, because you can't take it all. It would need to be extremely rare, but just the legend that such thing would exist. Rumours here and there, people lying about finding one, is it true, is it not true...
