my personal ideal naval combat game follows these characteristics:

 

1 Open World 

2 Historical Accuracy

3 Players choose nation and jobs for that nation whether, Trader ,Whaler , Navy , Smuggler

4. Online Servers one for Historical realism following wars and treaties of actually what happend or 2 server allowing for alternate history

5. Players get ships if in navy by what that navy had to offer at the time  Traders can upgrade there ships and at guns same with smugglers and whalers make money to balance economy of game

6.Countries navies must defend its traders and whalers while patrolling for pirates and smugglers.

7 British navy and French Navy can pressgang US Ships and US can retaliate by invading Tripoli

8 Ships arnt to be a pay to win or based on skill level ships are to be purchased or given by nations they choose 

9 Good Grafix with no lag

10 choice of MP and SP

1. is clear we get an massiv size of an sandbox open world

2. explain more in detail please what you are aiming with that statement

    ofcourse we try make it acurate as possible in terms of aviable maps and plans of towns and locations wich got destroyed by nature(earthquakes hurricans) over the ourse of hundrets of years. 

3. you will be able to choose what you want and when you want no classes or levels.

4. unknown there will be an EU and NA server in that order

 

5. hard to understand what you mean i'm sure its like HMS Victory only in Royal Navy and Trinidad for Spain adn so on but we will see it also comes with a lot of work including enough ships for all nations and will take alot of time.

6. i dont know why you are asking for this. ofcurse it will be needed thats only logical.

7. dont know enough to answere this.

8. there wont be any Pay to Win in this game thats one of the Goals for gamelabs and the current testers.

9. Grafic is awesome and performance is not really an issue at the moment unless you run on a toaster then its time for minor upgrades.

10. Single Player will come later into wich dimension is yet unknown.

SP beyond just AI ships for pve environments becomes a reall killer for developer reasons i suspect. especially for a small group

 

on point 9.  gfx;  i hope there is scope to enrich the environment further by the devs for those with higher level rigs. my main interest here is in the sailor/marine populations on the ships and more immersive taking of damage effects, smoke, fire etc etc.

most likly to happen later when more options are aviable after optimasation of current game mechanics

there might come alot of usfull updates with upgrading engines of the game untiy 5.0 6.0 and so on wich can bring new intressting stuff.

 

but hands down if there are a large amount of cannons and smoke you have go down in details on mass battles if you dont want a dia-show.

but in normal 6ships 3vs 3 you can play on ultra with no problem. we will see what the future brings
