Jeheil Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) I rarely blow the OMG WTF Fix it now klaxon of QQ...however...here I am blowing it. I am pretty sure this bug came in with 9.9. I tried tagging (in my lynx) a flag bearing rattlesnake (Danish) the day after the patch, his buddies came into the circle and I expected the BR failure (Lynx 20, Rattle 50 so 4 rattles 200) to kick in and I would get the failed BR....but no...it pulled them in. As they left (I didnt engage) I let them know I would not tag again. My understanding is you need more than 20% of the aggregate BR of both sides to engage in combat. I suspected there was a bug (and reported it) in calculating the BR in the circle. However, it appears (and its a bit inconsistent) that a Basic Cutter, can pull in 25 SOL's who are blobbed up. I know this for a fact as of yesterday as a British Sol fleet (20,000+ br) was repeatedly griefed (at least 4 times by 3 different Spanish Basic Cutter captains, who pulled us in on rotation repeatedly despite us asking them not to exploit). This behaviour cost a fleet desperately attempting to defend (and then take a port) over 20 minutes in combat initiation, battle timer, regroup time. It DID not auto end the battle as I have seen on occasion. Now, basically, we had alot of fun PvP planned for the weekend...and this simply derailed it. It is not a 100% thing as a connie failed to pull in our Pavel and 4 connies. So I am not 100% clear as to when it works and when it doesn't. But its broke, it has a MASSIVE impact on gameplay for big organised PvP and is somewhat of a gameplay breaker. Please Please lovely Dev's give this some priority attention. We are experiencing a mini revival in NA and heaps of excellent PvP and this is just a wet blanket on it all. Edited July 4, 2016 by Jeheil 3
Skully Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Do you have a screenshot of the line-up? Earlier I could tag an heavily escorted Pavel: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=716430979 [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.269017] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for self: 1 / Constitution [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.295018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 2 / Pavel owned by Roger Churchill [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.295018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 3 / Essex owned by Roger Churchill's - Roger Rool [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.295018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 4 / Niagara owned by Foxy Prique [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.295018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 5 / Lynx owned by Foxy Prique's - Edward Blease [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.295018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 6 / Lynx owned by Foxy Prique's - Roger Rool [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 7 / NavyBrig owned by Foxy Prique's - Jean-Benoit Alberic [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 8 / Lynx owned by Foxy Prique's - Foxy Blease [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 9 / Snow owned by Foxy Prique's - Ben Chertoff [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 10 / NavyBrig owned by Foxy Prique's - Bras Ramsey [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 11 / TradersCutter owned by Jesamiah de Leon [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.296018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 12 / Constitution owned by Nelsons Blood [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.297018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 13 / Constitution owned by Torgaz [2016-Jul-03 14:13:57.297018] Log: [ClientShip] [ClientShipController]SetShipStatus: ALIVE for: 14 / Constitution owned by JollyRoger1516 It looks fishy from a BR rating difference. (Hur, hur, fishy...)
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Yes, fix it. But please... keep the LGV with trader perk and let it be tagged by the privateer Lynx.
Lytse Pier Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 This weekend our fleets got pulled into battle instances continuously by lone cutters and smaller ships. Our players put in so many F11 bugreports that it can't be unnoticed. ???? Let's hope the devs will fix this today, otherwise I'm sure I am going to loose players again for our fleets. ???? 2
Teamski Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 This is one of the biggest bugs ever in the history of Naval Action. That BR difference lock was put into place for a very good reason, and that bug ruined this weekend's gaming for a lot of people. A single cutter pulling in an entire fleet of 1st rates is just downright wrong. The fact that this hasn't been addressed yet is mind numbing. PLEASE FIX IT! -Ski 1
Mrdoomed Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Whats even more wrong is the people who chose to use this exploit. To quote everyones parents " this is why we cant have nice things". Its really a shame that people do nothing but look for exploits all day but then feel no shame in using them over and over untill an authority stops it. People these days suck.
Robbert Dole Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Meh... just banish exploiters to the pve server... problem solved
Jeheil Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 I woke up at 5am to take part in a massive multi-clan multi-national offensive...only to spend much of the time being pulled in by pesky cutters (one at a time, different players same trick) as part of a 20+ Sol fleet. As a result the whole ~100 player event got cancelled and we returned to fishing. On the upside, I did see a Developer Post, saying this was in the next hotfix : http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/15031-british-using-exploits-to-avoid-flags/?p=278786 I am trying not to focus on the fact this is from a tribunal post, from the nation that did this 'twice' repeatadly on different days to two other nations...no I am not going to mention that.
